Breaking Down the Outside Hitters in the 2027 Rank Update

<p>The talent in this class at the outside hitter position is incredibly tight. The ranked athletes are so competitive, and they all offer so much to the teams they play on and volleyball in Wisconsin. Let's take a look at the top-ranked outside hitters, stock risers, new to the rank, and new watchlist names to know.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Top Ranked</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Aubrey is a dynamic and aggressive outside hitter. If she has the option to take an aggressive swing on the ball, she will. Her volleyball IQ is through the roof, and she takes up so much space on the court. She can comfortably cover almost half the court in serve reception against competitive servers. Aubrey could individually be one of the best passers and hitters in the state, but she brings both to the table. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Amelie brings so much finesse to the court. She has a lethal arm swing and can hit shots with pinpoint precision. Amelie is highly efficient in pass to attack and is a consistent force on the court. She is always ready to offload on the ball and is one of the main point-earners on any team she plays on. Every time she steps on the court, she makes a difference and earns points from the front and back row. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Lucy is an incredibly powerful athlete. Her ability to play on both the pin and out of the middle makes her so lethal. Her explosive approach and lightning-fast arm swing make her challenging to block. Lucy's kills are momentum-changing and energizing for her team. She also puts up a massive block and can explode across the net to be the first line of defense. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Abigail is a powerhouse pin who has really worked to develop her shots. Her deep corner shot can consistently get teams out of the system, and she has a competitive line shot as well. Abigail does a great job hiding her shot selection and mixing up the pace of her swings, so she is tough to read.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Lauren is a player who is relentless on every point. She has consistently played up at least one age division on very competitive teams. Recently, she was named MVP of the Sports Performance President's Day tournament in the 17/18 division, a really impressive feat for a sophomore. Her court vision is very high level which she utilizes to earn points and read opponents. Lauren has a high volleyball IQ and is the definition of a six-rotation athlete who adds value on nearly every single point. </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Stock Risers</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Lauren was the only player to break into the top 10 in this rankings update. She brings an intensity to the court that is hard to match. Her ability to terminate in increasingly powerful and competitive ways sets her apart. She is also developing into one of this class's most impactful six-rotation athletes. Lauren jumped from #17 to #9 in the rankings update.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Ava improved from #27 to #13 in the rankings update. Ava is one of the grittiest athletes on the court. She has had an incredible run the past year and shows no signs of slowing down. She stands out by continuing to improve her game and prove her high volleyball IQ. Ava is a true 6-rotation athlete who can honestly do it all. She is confident in her game and does not hesitate on the court. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Alexis is an outside hitter who is always hungry for more. Whether it is the first point or the last, she wants the ball. Alexis made a huge rank jump from #36 to #16. She has been unstoppable this club season. She sets herself apart because of her competitive nature and ability to consistently terminate against high-level defenses. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Ellisyn is another athlete who has made a big jump in rank. She improved from #54 to #28. Ellisyn has developed into a physical yet consistent pin hitter. She has smart shots and can control her power on the ball. Ellisyn has also continued to elevate her all-around game and can have a significant positive impact on matches. </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">New to the Rank</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Alianna was previously a watchlist player who moved into the rank with this update. She has really increased her overall court awareness and all-around game. Alianna has a huge amount of potential as either a front-row or back-row player. With the talented Notre Dame squad, she could have a breakout season for high school this year. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Audrina has had a huge season so far. She is new to my radar and an athlete I will continue to keep an eye on! Audrina is an explosive pin who has the potential to dominate matches. She has a sky-high vertical and a quick snap on the ball. She mixes up her shots well and is a dynamic athlete with a huge upside. Audrina is a natural leader and energizer on the court. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Avery is a pin for Madtown National 162. She has a lot of potential. Avery is athletic and consistent across the board in her volleyball skills. She is dynamic and well-rounded. What sets her apart is how aggressive she is. Even in tight matches, she plays fearless volleyball and will take the aggressive route to earn points. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Mikayla is a pin hitter who initially caught my eye with her excellent back-row court vision. When I saw her play she anticipated where hitters would go and made clean passes to the setter. Mikayla was also an impact player on offense. Mikayla's talent spanned the entire court and was impressive to watch. </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">New to the Watchlist</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Leilah is an impressive athlete who exploded onto my radar at the champions cup. She is a springy pin hitter who has a very high ceiling. Leilah is also a high-level defender who can run down balls across the back row and read opposing hitters for hard-driven balls. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Mckenna is playing up a division at FVP but you would never know with the way she plays. She is smart and decisive on the court, continuously making high-level decisions and learning from her mistakes. Mckenna is a player with a lot of potential who is constantly challenging herself to play at the next level. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Piper impressed me with her discipline. Even late in the tournament I saw, she was doing all of the little things right. She never backed down on a play and was always working for her team. Every time she was on the court she made a positive impact. </p>
