Who Are The New or Rising Iowa 2027s?

Our Iowa Class of 2027 rankings have been updated. There are over 70 athletes that had been added to our database and we are ready to take a look at some new names as well as the ones who are rising. This is a big weekend for Iowa athletes where many of them will be competing in the Iowa Regional Tournament, claiming their first national bids of the season. Here are 12 from the Class of 2027 who are new or rising.    The upside is there - understatement. [player_tooltip player_id='702527' first='Ryanne' last='Brubaker'] is a 6'8 middle blocker out of Grundy Center who is making some huge improvements on the court and could be a potential big prospect out of the Class of 2027 in Iowa. I saw her warming up for the Grundy Center 2023 team while she was just a freshman. She didn't play, but it was definitely something to take note of what this could look like in the future. Being part of a successful program at Grundy Center and for CIA, she will have the training tools to take her game to the next level. This could be an exciting recruiting path that will officially start on June 15.     I remember seeing [player_tooltip player_id='389853' first='Kennedy' last='Krecklow'] at one of our Iowa showcases in the Des Moines area where she was an outside hitter who had a lot of pop from her swing. She seemed to hit the ball square every. This translated well to her high school season where she was a big time point scorer for Cedar Falls, helping lead them to another state tournament appearance. She's playing her club ball for CIA 16 Black where she will be generating plenty of momentum heading into the summer.     I was able to see [player_tooltip player_id='493982' first='Deidra' last='Doeden'] live for her Cherokee High School team where she was only a freshman playing in the state tournament. She is a middle blocker who can stuff it to the other side, but is also one who causes the opposing side to alter shots. Her numbers speak for itself where she is one of the top blockers from the Class of 2027 and is a name to know in Northwest Iowa.     This past fall there was plenty of attention on Mount Vernon all season, especially with Louisville commit [player_tooltip player_id='215385' first='Chloe' last='Meester'] and Arkansas commit [player_tooltip player_id='215389' first='Sydney' last='Maue'], but another athlete who had a breakout season was outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='555712' first='Sophia' last='Meester']. She came up big in the moments the Mustangs needed her the most. Her clutch play resulted in being able to hold up the Class 3A state championship trophy. She will be one of the go to player for Mount Vernon this fall and is getting some great experience playing for Adrenaline this club season.     [player_tooltip player_id='574225' first='Addy' last='Wolfswinkel'] is quite the dynamic player for Cherokee where she just makes things happen. She has been a key part of the success at Cherokee, but is also turning head on the club courts playing for Salty out of the Orange City area. This is an up and coming program with Northwestern College coach Kyle Van Den Bosch being the lead coach. Wolfswinkel has turned heads at Prep Dig Events where she was part of the All Showcase Team in Nebraska and will be sure to generate some momentum this spring and will look to get Cherokee back to Coralville this fall.     I was able to see [player_tooltip player_id='555746' first='Clare' last='Yeggy'] at the Central Zone Invite in Indianapolis at the end of March where she was a big time impact player for Platform Elite 16 Adidas. She has the length and physicality in the front line to score points and provide a big block. Pleasant Valley is graduating two middle blockers from their state championship team and Yeggy could be one to fill in one of those spots.     [player_tooltip player_id='584675' first='Nataliya' last='Linder'] is a 6'0 middle blocker who preps at North Mahaska and is coming off a huge sophomore season where she was named Class 2A All District, making a deep run in the 2A regional tournament. She has a huge upside to her game where the best is still ahead of her. She is playing for Adrenaline this winter and will be gearing up for a breakout juniors season. Her athleticism and length is obvious when watching her play. She's been playing out of the middle, but with her length she could be effective from any front row position.     I was able to see [player_tooltip player_id='739561' first='Taylor' last='Schneider'] play for Iowa One this past January when they were at the Prep Dig Minnesota Slam in Rochester where her team finished second overall in the 16s Division. Schneider is a left handed right side attacker who is extremely effective. She was a key part to the success of Wapsie Valley this past fall and will have a bigger role as a junior. She can hit the hard angle and also knows when to mix in an offspeed spot, making her a tough match up to defend.     For athletes attending the Central Iowa high school powers, they sometimes don't get an opportunity to contribute right away, but for [player_tooltip player_id='758828' first='Sophia' last='Heither'] she was able to make an impact for Centennial this past fall as a sophomore. She has some big time spring out of the middle and provides a dynamic skillset to score points. She knows how to find the deep corners, can take it right out of the setter's hands to score with a swing or tip. Her RVA team is having a big season and has a group of 2027s that are ones to watch heading into the summer.     [player_tooltip player_id='495803' first='Ava' last='Jones'] is a new up and coming name out of the Cedar Valley where she had a standout sophomore season for Waterloo West. As a six rotation outside hitter, she racked up over 250 kills this fall and nearly 200 digs. She has been playing on the Fearless 18s team this club season where she isn't afraid to take a big swing, bringing an aggressive mindset to the court which is always exciting.     [player_tooltip player_id='745362' first='Dottie' last='Reed'] preps at Winterset and has been playing her club ball for Iowa Impact out of Ankeny. She brings a lot of length and athleticism to the court where she can run a slide, a quick tempo in front of the setter, and provides a big block. With her speed, she can close the block, work in transition to become available for her setter. She led her high school team with 51 total blocks in 2024.       [player_tooltip player_id='555725' first='Brielle' last='Trout'] brings athleticism and physicality to the court where she has been a stand out at Center Point-Urbana and has found a spot with Iowa United 161 Elite. This will be a team to beat heading into Iowa Regionals this weekend. As a middle blocker, Trout connects well with a quick tempo from her setters and is able to score points, as well as close the block, work in transition, and be available to score points.
