The Courts in Omaha were buzzing with excitement and anticipation last week as Premier, Nebraska One and Volleyball Club Nebraska held tune up scrimmages before Girl's Junior National Championships in Dallas, Texas.

The 15's start off today and Premier 15 Gold will be ready. They had a great scrimmage against VCN 16 Black. Keep an eye out for these standouts for Premier 15 Gold in the USA Division.

5 '10 " [player_tooltip player_id='575235' first='Logann' last='Dostal'] from Gretna High School. She is so strong and explosive. Her strengths are seeing the court and making the shot she needs too for a sideout. Dostal does a phenomenal job of hitting the quick line shot. She can also run a fast tempo middle set and is productive from the back row when she swings.

Another fellow Dragon teammate is Libero [player_tooltip player_id='567542' first='Ava' last='Nowling']. The 5'6” sophomore has precision passing. Her platform is steady and she passes with good angles. She is calm, quick and reads the ball well.

Premier's backrow is a big threat when you also add 5'4” [player_tooltip player_id='572680' first='Brooklyn' last='Beethe'] along with Nowling. These two are across town rivals as Beethe attends Gretna East, but they keep it steady in the back row for 15 Gold. Beethe is smooth in serve receive and reads well. She does a great job of covering her attackers as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='566265' first='Leighton' last='Froehlich'] is a 6'2” Middle who also hails from Gretna High School. She has great high contact and a quick arm swing. Froehlich runs the slide extremely well. Her long levers make her versatile and she can cover a lot of ground! Her ceiling is high!

Another team to keep an eye on is Nebraska One 16 Black who is playing in the 16 National Division. 5 '7 " North Star setter [player_tooltip player_id='458146' first='Alex' last='Kroll'] keeps defenses guessing with her great distribution of the ball. She has great, strong wrists and soft hands. Kroll has experience with success at GJNC with a 3rd Place finish at GJNC with VCN 15 Black. Her serve has really improved and is hard to handle. Look for her leadership this next week in Dallas and hungry to get back to the podium.

Another strong hitter with past success at GJNC is 5 '10 " Outside [player_tooltip player_id='521253' first='Elsie' last='Schmidt']. Both her and Kroll have had a two year connection with club last year and this past fall at North Star. Schmidt is explosive with a quick arm swing. She is able to tool shot with a hard tip or hit that sharp angle. Look for 16 Black to rely on Schmidt for the sideout in Dallas.

Middle Laruen McKerman has great footwork and is quick to the ball. She is fast laterally and can't get great touches on the block. McKerman has a fast arm swing and a great vertical to swing between the seams. Another middle to pack a punch is 5 '10 " [player_tooltip player_id='521245' first='Aunalie' last='Scribner']. She is strong and runs the slide so well. She too is a strong blocker! She also has great hands if needed for that out of system ball as she has set during high school season. Love her versatility! Scribner also had GJNC success with VCN 15 Black last year.

[player_tooltip player_id='458167' first='Delainey' last='Volkmer'] is a 5'10” outside who is so explosive and athletic on the pin. She is the type of player who can terminate when needed. Volkmer is ultra competitive and can jump out of the gym. She is a true six rotation player and can swing well from the back row. She was on the All-Tournament team last year for VCN 15 Black at GJNC. Look for her to be hungry for more success as well this year with Nebraska One 16 Black.

Another 16's team to keep an eye on is VCN 16 Black. They have several returners on the team from the successful season and 3rd place finish in Liberty last year at GJNC. This year they will try to find the podium in the American Division. Here are a few players to keep an eye on this team.

Defensive Specialist/Libero [player_tooltip player_id='521256' first='Emmalyn' last='Quinn']. She is steady and consistent in serve receive. She does a great job of reading hitters. Quinn is a lefty so her jump float is hard to follow and she can get on some great serving runs. Look for her to be a consistent and constant back row force. Quinn was on the All-Tournament Team last year in Las Vegas.

Setter [player_tooltip player_id='521254' first='Kolbee' last='Kroemer'] has shown huge growth this season. Last year she was primarily a back up setter and defensive/serving specialist. This year she has taken the reins and has done a fantastic job. She is passionate and full of energy on the floor. She runs a faster tempo and has great hands. Look for her to distribute the ball across the net to keep defenses guessing.

Coming back from an injury in May, outside 5'8” [player_tooltip player_id='498977' first='Jackie' last='Eberspacher'] has a ton of power. She does a great job of mixing power and finesse. She has great court vision and good ball control at the net. It will be great to see her back on the floor at Nationals.

5 '11 " [player_tooltip player_id='521283' first='Katelyn' last='Krikac'] has filled in at the pin and has shown her versatility along the net. She has played middle the whole season. She has a great arm swing and long levers. She also is sneakily deceptive with floor defense as well. Look to her to continue to grow and be a threat regardless of where she plays.

Lots of high level volleyball the next few days as the season winds down! Keep tabs on these teams competing in Dallas this week and next!
