We're only a few weeks into the Minnesota high school volleyball season, and already the power hitters are making their presence known. From outside hitters unloading with speed and precision to middles dominating at the net, these athletes are racking up kills and forcing defenses to adjust. A kill—when a hitter puts the ball away untouched or unreturned—can flip the momentum of a match in an instant, and Minnesota's top attackers are proving just that.

So, who is leading so far in kills as of today? Let's check them out!

No player in Minnesota has been more dominant at the net to start the season than [player_tooltip player_id='227878' first='Kaydence' last='White'], who currently leads the state with 163 kills. At 6'+ and playing through the middle, White's game is built on explosive first-step quickness and a heavy arm swing that makes her a constant mismatch. She runs quick sets with precision, finding seams in the block and terminating at a high clip. Defensively, her ability to read the setter and close blocks has made her just as valuable on the other side of the ball, taking away angles and forcing hitters into errors.

What sets White apart is her efficiency—she doesn't just tally kills in volume, she scores in the biggest moments. Whether it's running a slide behind the setter or hammering a quick in transition, she provides Concordia–St. Paul a future middle who can change the momentum of a match with a single swing.~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

With 132 kills already this season, Cora Lundbohm has become the offensive engine for Roseau. As a six-rotation outside hitter, she brings both firepower in the front row and steadiness in the backcourt. Lundbohm's swing is heavy and deceptive—she can go high off hands, find sharp crosscourt angles, or tool the block when needed. Her ability to score in transition is especially dangerous, turning broken plays into points and keeping her team in system.

Beyond just kills, Lundbohm's all-around presence elevates Roseau. She passes at a high level, makes smart reads defensively, and has the volleyball IQ to adjust mid-rally. Opposing coaches know she's going to get a high volume of swings, but stopping her is another story. Her combination of shot selection, court vision, and consistency makes her one of the premier outside hitters in the state this season.~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

[player_tooltip player_id='221905' first='Kinley' last='Soiney'] has already racked up 128 kills this season, anchoring Mabel-Canton's front line with a commanding presence in the middle. She combines quick lateral movement with a fast arm swing, making her one of the most reliable options on quick sets and slides. Soiney excels at finding open space, whether that's driving a ball straight down on a “1” set or stretching the block wide with a slide behind the setter.

Defensively, she's just as disruptive. Soiney's ability to read hitters and close seams has made her a force at the net, often altering shots even when she doesn't record the block. Her court awareness and timing allow her to not only terminate efficiently but also create opportunities for her pin hitters by drawing blockers.

For Mabel-Canton, Soiney isn't just a stat leader—she's a momentum changer. Her ability to score in critical moments and control the net makes her one of the most impactful middles in Minnesota this season.~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

Already at 128 kills on the season, [player_tooltip player_id='177440' first='Cora' last='Bicknese'] has shown why she's one of the most dynamic and versatile players in Minnesota. While she's typically seen in the libero jersey at the club level—where her ball control and defensive range shine—high school season allows her to showcase another dimension of her game: her ability to terminate at the net.

Bicknese's attacking arsenal is built on speed and precision. She elevates quickly, uses sharp wrist control to hit around or off the block, and thrives in out-of-system situations where many players struggle. Her background as a libero adds another layer—she reads the game exceptionally well, sees the floor before contact, and makes high-IQ decisions in transition.

Bicknese's versatility makes her one of Minnesota's most complete players, and Michigan State is getting a commit who can impact every phase of the game.~Theresa @prepdigdakotas
