Fall Brawl Day One Notables

Half played Friday at Elizabethtown and the other seven played at John Hardin.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Elizabethtown, Apollo, Breckinridge County and Sayre gained inside tractions to the gold round all going 2-0 on the first day. Green County and Marion County also won their lone games of the day. She'll go up and defenders will shuffle toward the right line thinking she's ready to send a cross, which does happen. Then at the last second, she pulls up and deposits into the back left four zone, making her tough on go routes. Gray even sends darts from the back row to different spots on the floor. Gray makes the simple passes. She'll lean when needed to get to balls, but keeps them under control. Gray is good in one-on-one blocking situations and runs good tandems to create hitting space for teammates. Gray said she tries to work around blocks, see the floor and put it down when asked about in-air adjustments. The fast-paced club action she saw in the spring shows in games when she's setting up the attack. She steps into her sets to guide them to the target and she mixes in deceptive setovers. Arlinghaus rises up and quickly smacks down ones before blockers can get up to challenge her. She is aggressive both offensively and defensively trying to help the Colonels control the net. She can angle balls off blocks and hustles hard after balls on defense. Loffland is also a reliable passer and continuously encourages teammates on and off the court. She is great on quicks and has good timing on her blocks. She consistently finds different ways to put balls down.
