About Kaleia

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I'm a libero that covers as much of the court as possible. I'm taller than some so even though I don't always hit the floor, my range is deceiving without having to go to the floor. When necessary, going to the floor is my favorite especially when I get to a ball that everyone thinks I don't have a chance to get, but i do!

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My personality off the court is a little shy, but on the court, I play loud and communicate effectively with my teammates. I remind myself during games that I have done as much as possible training and getting in reps, so I just transfer that to the game.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I served on ASB at middle school for 2 years. I am currently in high school and participate in as many after school events as possible.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

My leadership skills are evident in how hard I work on and off the court. I play on a team where everyone is a grade level older than me, but I always give my best effort to show them I am a force. I compete and it has taught me to bring players along with me because that's how a team truly grows by making the players around me better.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have only played libero the last 2 seasons. I was an outside hitter and even played setter a few times. The other challenge has been playing on a team where everyone is a year older than me. This was especially hard when everyone started high school last year and I struggled to relate. I always made sure that I stayed confident in my play and once we stepped on the court it was 110% regardless!

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a college where it can be my home away from home. I also want to join a team of likeminded people who try their best and are trying to make a difference in their own lives, but also be a positive impact on others.

Please officially welcome Miss Zeits to the State Rankings.  She is currently ranked as the 3rd best overall player and top libero according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings.  She plays volleyball for Glendora High School and also plays for the Tstreet volleyball club.  When comparing all of the players in this wonderful list, we had to take into consideration why certain players were asked to play up in an older age group.  Kaleia is not 0nly playing up, but in the starting lineup and considered a game-changer for her squad when it comes to ball control.  Not only is she a genius in serve receive, but her defense is on another level.  Routinely, you will see a  ball that is destined to hit the ground because no one is anywhere near it and then here comes Kaleia flying out of nowhere to save it from scoring.  I would love to get some measurements of how far her defensive range really is because it looks phenomenal.  Hard driven balls are no problem for her as she has such a nice and soft natural touch on the ball with her platform.  This young lady will be a solid addition to any college program in four years if this is where she is starting her freshman high school year from.  Keep your eye on this young lady as she is one to watch.  Please help us congratulate her on earning a spot in our prestigious State Rankings.
