Voices Behind 2025 NTDP Volleyball Stars - Part 1

PrepDig proudly celebrates the California athletes selected for the 2025 Girls Indoor National Team Development Program (NTDP) Spring Training Series, taking place May 8–11 at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.   As someone who has personally experienced the NTDP Training Series, I can confidently say it stands among the most elite and transformative volleyball development opportunities in the country. With top-tier collegiate coaches, expert instructors, and a curriculum designed for long-term growth, this program offers an unparalleled level of training, exposure, and personal development.   California's contingent is packed with rising stars, each of whom has earned a well-deserved place among the nation's best. At NTDP, they will sharpen their technical craft, deepen their game IQ, and elevate both their physical and mental performance.   To give you a closer look at what this opportunity means, I spoke with eleven California athletes heading to Bradenton. She approaches this opportunity with an open mind and a willingness to be flexible, knowing it will push her to grow. Representing California on a national stage is an exciting and meaningful experience for McKenna, who is proud to demonstrate her skills and talents alongside the country's top athletes.   She's most looking forward to having fun, building friendships, and continuing her development in the sport she loves. If given the chance to bring someone with her, McKenna would choose [player_tooltip player_id='515402' first='Janiah' last='Burrage'], a standout whose passion and love for the game she finds truly inspiring. She plans to make the most of this experience by applying the high-level coaching she receives to elevate her game. Grateful and proud to represent California alongside other talented athletes, Kiersten sees this opportunity as something truly special. She is someone she loves playing against and even just watching on the court. ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247     [player_tooltip player_id='482032' first='Makenna' last='Barnes'] is eager to showcase her serving and attacking at the NTDP Spring Training Series. She's focused on using this opportunity to raise her volleyball IQ and play with greater intention and intensity. For Makenna, the honor, pride, and humility she feels representing California are deeply meaningful, and she's thrilled to see her hard work paying off. She plans to elevate her game by carefully listening to the coaches, applying their feedback, and learning through competition alongside other high-level athletes. Bella feels incredibly honored to have this opportunity to train with some of the nation's top players and learn from outstanding coaches. She plans to challenge herself by competing against the best, using the elite-level coaching to absorb as much as possible and grow in all aspects of her game. Representing California at the national level is deeply meaningful for Stella, who feels grateful to be part of such a talented group of athletes from a state known for its strong volleyball culture. For her, being part of NTDP is not only an honor but also a joy, as it allows her to play the sport she loves alongside an incredible group of peers. Ms. Green is someone Stella feels has unmatched competitive mindset, a relentless hustle, and a deep love for the game that makes her a trusted and admired presence in the back row. ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247     At the NTDP Spring Training Series, [player_tooltip player_id='536929' first='Abbie' last='Hairrell'] is most excited to showcase her communication skills, a strength she believes every player can bring, whether on the court or supporting from the sidelines, to help the flow of the game and boost team morale. Abbie plans to take the lessons she learns from the coaches and fellow athletes back to her club and school, continuing to push herself toward becoming the best version of herself. Representing Southern California is a meaningful honor for Abbie, and she's grateful for the opportunity to train with such talented players.
