Considered by some to be a little small, Miss Hughes more than makes up for her size with athleticism through the roof, strong hands and a good overall grade in all parts of her game. Location, tempo and matchup choice are all innate qualities for Lillian, and those traits alone will earn her attention from high-end recruiters. Add the physicality, high training and coachability, Miss Hughes is a can’t-miss prospect from perennial power HSE.

Miss Hughes is coming up through a tough volleyball environment, which means her understanding of tempo, offensive structure, and positional accountability has been shaped by one of the most demanding volleyball settings in the state. At 5’8″ and listed in the Prep Dig December rankings update for Indiana’s 2029 class, she is already drawing attention from evaluators who recognize how much the Hamilton Southeastern program accelerates the development timeline. The showcase floor will let coaches see whether the competitive standard of her home program translates when she is running a system with players she met at the event. From what I see in her film, she has the tools necessary to lead an offense against any opponent.  We will be watching her very closely and you should as well.

Making up for her size with strong hands and long strides, Lillian knows nothing but winning in both her high school and club programs. Already familiar with high-end training and playing one of the toughest schedules in the class, Miss Hughes’ familiarity with “tough” is what makes her stand out—-in short, she makes it look easy and matter-of-fact. I like her go for every ball, at 100%, and put up a hittable ball regardless of situation.

Athletic and smart, Lillian will run the offense for Rev’s top 15s squad this coming spring. Being part of the HSE clan, she’s already accustomed to high-end volleyball and will receive more of the same training at Rev. Currently, her footwork is solid, her set location is repeatable, and accuracy comes easy to her. I’ll get a chance to see her work at Hoosier Regionals, as that tournament should pit her against most of the top programs in her age group in the state.
