Rankings Update: 2029 New Top Ten (Free Report)
In this article:
The Kansas Class of 2029 rankings were updated and published this morning.
The rankings now include 175 total athletes and 65 debuting athletes.
Two major factors play a role in the rankings for the "young" classes and early rankings.
First, did I see the athlete play, and secondly, does the athlete have public stats available?
Here is a look at the new Top Ten-ranked athletes, it includes five athletes whose skills will be on display this week at State Tournaments in the Sunflower State.
Athletes are encouraged to claim their "FREE" Prep Dig Profiles and add to them account photos, video highlights, and contact information so that college coaches subscribing to our family of Prep Network websites can reach out to them.
Athletes with completed profiles will get a slight edge in the rankings early in the process. Here is the link to claim or create player profiles.
To the prospects in the Top 10, keep up the hard work.
I wish good luck to all the athletes playing in a state tournament this week.
To the 65 newly ranked athletes, welcome to the Prep Dig Family.
There was no change at the top of the rankings during this update. Kapaun's Livermore remains the No. 1-ranked athlete in the Kansas Class of 2029 Prep Dig Rankings. I first saw her during the 2025 club season, and she has been a valuable addition to the Crusaders' roster. She has registered 269 kills and 28 blocks in 82 sets played for Kapaun. The athletic power-hitter will put her skills on display at the Class 5A State Tournament in Salina this week. Kapaun owns a record of 27-10 and is the No. 7 seed in the tournament, which begins on October 30.

Deeter is ranked No. 2 overall after a solid freshman campaign with Jefferson West. Deeter finished her initial high school season with 244 kills and 51 blocks for the Tigers. She was a net monster during the entire season. Jeff West fell in a Class 3A regional final to the Holton Wildcats. They will return a solid corps of players next fall. Deeter is a player I hope to see play during the club season, schedule permitting.

A new addition to the Top 10 of the rankings is Rossville's Perine. She is ranked No. 3 overall after previously being ranked No. 45. I saw Perine play in September and was impressed with her quickness and leadership skills. She has dished out 883 assists in 92 sets for the Bulldogs. She will head to Dodge City this week to display her skills on the grand stage of the Class 2A State Tournament. Rossville has registered a record of 28-13 and will be the No. 8 Seed in the tournament out West. Perine and her teammates will be challenged early in the tournament as they will open against the last remaining undefeated team in the Sunflower State, the No. 1-seeded Ellinwood Eagles.

She finished her freshman campaign with 769 assists, 120 kills, and 36 blocks. She is a six rotation talent who also recorded 217 digs and 39 aces in 89 sets played. The Lancers finished the season with a 22-12 record. McGuire debuts at No. 4 overall.

Elliott is a debut athlete in the 2029 Kansas Rankings. She plays club ball for KC Power . She parlayed an impressive freshman season for the Huskies into a spot in the rankings. She recorded 476 assists, 59 kills, and 20 blocks in 65 sets played. She is tall and long for a setter, which will make her a target of college coaches down the road. She joins the rankings in the No. 5 slot. Blue Valley Northwest finished the season with a 10-23 record.
Highlights
Channell is the second significant rankings climber this time around. After previously being ranked No. 40, she is now ranked No. 6 overall. She played 58 varsity sets this season, sharing time at setter and as a hitter. She recorded 277 assists, 137 kills, and 18 blocks. Beloit's a program that had players suffer significant injuries this season and had some growing pains. They will look to bounce back from an early exit in the Class 3A Regionals and improve on a 29-10 record next fall.

The third athlete on this list who will be playing this week at a State Tournament is the Owls' Allen. She is the first real defensive wizard on the Top 10, moving up to No. 7 after being previously ranked No. 12 overall. She has recorded 238 digs and 335 serve receptions in 86 sets played. She is second on the team in aces with 44. Olathe West is the No. 6 Seed in Salina on Friday with a record of 26-7.

Wegner joins the rankings at No. 8 overall after I saw her put together an impressive tournament performance this season. She finished the season with 109 kills and 19 blocks in a secondary role for the Cardinals. She is an elite jumper and has a nice swing. Eudora's winning season ended in the Class 4A Sub-State Final against the Hayden Wildcats.
Highlights
Whitney joins the rankings at No. 9 overall. She will be playing in the Class 6A State Tournament in Salina this week. Through 83 sets played, she has registered 152 kills and 249 serve receptions for Free State. She is an aggressive athlete who understands the recruiting process. She reached out to me to get on my radar, which always goes a long way in getting noticed by others down the road. Free State enters Friday's tournament with a 20-12 record as the No. 8 Seed.

Joining Free State's Whitney in Salina for the Class 6A State Tournament is the Grizzlies' Triplett. Wichita Northwest enters the tournament field with a record of 30-6 and will be seeded No. 3 in Pool B. Triplett is the only freshman on the senior-laden Grizzlies' roster. In 23 sets of varsity action, she has collected 41 digs, 32 kills, and four blocks.
