NKYVC 16 Tsunami, Thunder overviews

These two teams for the most part are intact from the 15 Tsunami and Thunder teams of last spring.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Tsunami</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This team returns eight players off last year's 15-1 team and that experience playing together has shown with the 16 Open championship in the Nike Classic in Columbus to start the season 10-3.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Two sound defensive specialists in St. Henry sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='610406' first='Kenadi' last='Sieg'] and Notre Dame sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='741510' first='Dara' last='Jackson'] return. St, Henry sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='612108' first='Madelyn' last='Keipert'] and St. Ursula sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='582200' first='Lucy' last='Waleskowski'] will also set or play outside hitter. Notre Dame sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='727131' first='Kaia' last='Tilden'] will play defensive specialist or outside hitter.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the two new players is Harrison sophomore outside hitter/defensive specialist [player_tooltip player_id='776441' first='Regan' last='Oaks'] and Tilden is the other. Tilden moved up from the 15-2 team this spring. The team is loaded with power in Notre Dame junior middle/outside hitters [player_tooltip player_id='727143' first='Makayla' last='Roose'] and [player_tooltip player_id='741504' first='Emma' last='Redlinger']. St. Henry sophomore outside/middle hitter [player_tooltip player_id='709517' first='Violet' last='Main'] and Highlands sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='590644' first='Alexis' last='Steinhauser'] round out the roster.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Tyler Collins is the team's head coach. The team plays in the 16 Open in the Central Zone in Indianapolis on Saturday and Sunday.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Thunder</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This team returns six players that played together on the 15-2 last year. St. Henry sophomore Hadley Lemmond gives the team height in the middle at 6-1 along with Ryle sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='712121' first='Ashley' last='Towner'] at 6-feet even. Mount Notre Dame sophomore middle/right side hitter Moira Kapp does the same thing.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Three outside/right side hitters are St. Henry sophomores Stella Flick, [player_tooltip player_id='727147' first='Molly' last='Blackburn'] and Lakota East sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='769865' first='Brooklyn' last='Tudor']. Two sophomore liberos come from Ohio two-time defending Division I champion Seton in [player_tooltip player_id='746292' first='Ellie' last='Huseman'] and Madyson Kremm. Gehring does a great job involving multiple hitters. Gehring stays on an even keel no matter the circumstances.
