About Tinley

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’d describe my gameplay style as smart, aggressive, and reactive. As a hitter, I focus on making smart attacking decisions, finding open spots, and adjusting to the defense. As a DS, I rely on quick reactions, strong court awareness, and reading where the ball is going so I can make plays and keep the rally alive.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’d describe my mentality as determined and positive. I never give up on a play and always compete until the point is over. I also bring energy to the court by cheering on my teammates and celebrating good plays to keep everyone motivated and confident.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in Dance Marathon at school, where we help raise money for Riley Children’s Hospital. I am also planning to join DECA next year and become more involved in student government.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through volleyball, school activities, and community involvement, I have developed strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills. Being part of a team has taught me how to support others, stay positive, and work toward a common goal.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One significant challenge I’ve faced is being undersized as a hitter. Because of that, I’ve had to work even harder to improve my vertical, timing, and overall athleticism so I can compete at a high level. It has taught me that hitters can be any size as long as they are doing their job—being smart, aggressive, and finding ways to scor

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college where I feel comfortable and supported, both academically and socially. I also want a school that will challenge me, help me grow, and prepare me for my future career and goals.
