About Kensley

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My name is Kensley Cormney, who is apart of the 2028 class. I am a hardworking and team oriented pin hitter and defensive specialist who thrives in competitive environments. I take pride in contributing on both offense and defense and being a trusted teammate on the court. I bring consistent effort every day, whether competing in matches or training in the gym, and I value teamwork and leadership

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a competitive, coachable, and hardworking athlete who is always looking for ways to improve. I bring a positive attitude to every practice and game and enjoy encouraging my teammates. I handle challenges with determination and stay focused on my goals both on and off the court. I value leadership, teamwork, and accountability, and I strive to be a dependable teammate who leads by example.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am actively involved in KUNA (Kentucky United Nations Assembly) and French Club. Through KUNA, I have developed leadership, public speaking, and teamwork skills while participating in debates and conferences. I was honored to receive the Outstanding Speaker Award for my performance and communication abilities. I take pride in balancing my academic, extracurricular, and athletic commitments.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through volleyball, KUNA, and French Club, I have developed leadership, teamwork, communication, and time management skills. These experiences have taught me how to lead by example, work well with others, and stay committed to my goals.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Balancing academics, volleyball, and extracurricular activities has been a challenge. It has taught me discipline, organization, and how to manage my time effectively while staying focused on my goals.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that offers a strong academic program and a competitive volleyball program. I want a supportive team culture, opportunities for personal growth, and a community where I can succeed both on and off the court.
