About Haylie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Competitive. I know the rotations and have no issues with telling teammates where they need to be pre-serve. I try to lead by example and am usually not too highly of a vocal player. I will show some emotions, but usually try to be steady; not overly excited, but don't get down on myself or my teammates. I always show 100% of my effort on the court.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am determined to be a good player and teammate. I always try to keep a positive mindset even when my teammates are down. I balance competitiveness and sportsmanship. I bounce back from my mistakes and tough moments when I'm on the court.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Club Softball 2016 - 2024 High School Softball Club Volleyball 2017 - Present High School Volleyball Academic Excellence Award 2024

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Leadership skillset developed by my teammates trust through being a softball pitcher and volleyball setter. I have played team sports since I was 7 years old. I am very athletic, which has helped me be a very good teammate and extremely coachable.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

After being in softball, and pitching, for most of my life, I made the difficult decision to back off that sport and concentrate on volleyball, which I hope to continue after high school in college. I have grown up with a supportive, stable family that values family, faith, togetherness, and of course, sports!

What type of college are you looking for?

Last summer I attended a few college prospect camps. I drew attention of a few DII, DIII, NAIA and community colleges. I want to find a college that will fit the way I play. I also hope that the college I'm looking for has good academics for what major I will decide to pursue, which is currently undecided.
