Iowa PowerPlex gets another pin on the board. 16U Nelson has hoisted championship trophies on our circuit, and Isaacson has had her hand in many of the team’s triumphs. She has cemented her well-rounded influence by stepping up as a floor defender in the middle-back area. Of course, Isaacson can do some scoring of her own when her number is called.

I will be looking forward to PowerPlex 16 Nelson take the court again. I was able to see them at Triple Crown where they went toe to toe with some of the top teams in the nation. One of their key players will be Elle Isaacson who can score at will. She is one of the top targets on the outside where she puts a lot of pace on her swing. She has shown she can serve receive and defend as well as be an outlet in the backrow. This team has a bid to the Freedom Division at USAV Nationals in Indy later in June where I think they could make a run.

Isaacson is a player that has steadily improved during the last year. She stood out with her performance at the 2025 Northern Lights National Qualifier and took a step forward when watching her again throughout her sophomore season at Ankeny this past fall. Isaacson had made strides again during an in-person scout at the 2026 ASICS Show Me National Qualifier in mid-April in Kansas City. Competing with PowerPlex 16U Nelson, she’d sharpened her skills and added strength. Her swing from the 10-foot line has become noticeably more consistent. Long arms and leaping ability lend themselves to improving that skill even more. Isaacson’s swing is adding velocity. Athleticism and agility creates versatility keeping open the door for development at either pin. That’s enhanced by strong defense at the net. She produced 203 kills and 29.0 blocks as a 10th-grader on a Class 5A state semifinalist last fall and is a prospect trending up.

Isaacson stood out to me when watching her Plex team during the Northern Lights qualifier and the Iowa regional qualifier. She brings a loud attack to the court with a big swing, her long right arm generating power. Isaacson’s agility and athleticism helps her remain consistent whether she’s putting the ball down or throwing up a block. Ankeny benefited from her skills this fall, when she contributed 203 kills, 29.0 blocks and 55 kills for a team that reached the state semifinals. It feels like Isaacson is just beginning to scratch the surface of his high upside. She could really take off during the club campaign.
