About Isabella

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Powerful and athletic. I am a team player. My serving game is strong and I am working on targeting my hitting. Blocking is a strength for me. I am a hardworker and take feedback very well to continue to improve my game.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a fierce competitor. My dad is a professional football coach, so I was raised in an environment that stresses the intangibles (work ethic, coachable, winning mindset). I understand that you learn more through failure and in a team sport you need to move past mistakes quickly and reset. I love to play volleyball and winning makes it even more fun!

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Friendship club at school, Golden Honor Roll, volunteer at food bank, sand volleyball, active in my Catholic Church.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Captain of the JV Team at Mira Costa.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My family has moved 2 times in the last 4 years. Indiana to Michigan to California. It’s not easy starting over with each move and proving myself to people. It has caused me to get out of my comfort zone and be more assertive and show more of my personality in social and school situations.

What type of college are you looking for?

I want to be a part of a program that helps me to be the best version of myself. I am open to any part of the country. I want a school with an excellent academic reputation as I want to be a dentist one day. I want a volleyball program with a great culture and I want to win!
