We’ve talked a lot about qualifier results in this series, but Donner’s big first impression came outside the USAV circuit. I had the chance to cover Premier Nebraska 15 Gold in a single-match feature at Triple Crown NIT, and this elite venue brought a new side of Donner’s unique game. We knew about her unstoppable power behind the setter, but we were taken aback by Donner’s flexibility as a backcourt opposite, too. She remained involved in the offense if 15 Gold had to change its system on the fly. 15 Open teams will have a lot to deal with when scouting Donner’s vast on-court influence.

Premier Nebraska 15 Gold has leveraged a two-setter offense throughout much of this year’s early-season action, allowing the team’s right-side hitter depth to flourish in the front row. Donner is a vital cog in that effort, as she produces indefensible heat behind the setter. Moreover, this Gretna freshman is an exceptional wing blocker who can challenge the best outside hitters on the 15s circuit. The Nebraska Elite Classic will provide another glimpse of Donner’s all-around prowess.
