Northwest Power League- RVC 18 Kari
Renovators stepped into week two of the NWPL in Auburn and finished with a 6-0 record over the two days of competition. A fast-tempo offense kept defenders on their heels and RVC only dropped one set total, 23-25 to WVBA 18 Adidas. The team turned around and finished that match off with a 15-6 third-set margin, ending a terrific weekend in style. It was a big team effort, with the squad having to move players around as they dealt with depth issues- excellent passing from libero Madison Joswick Madison Joswick 5'7" | DS/L Central Valley | 2025 State WA and a host of others allowed setter Kylie Munday to find her quick athletic attackers before blockers were set up.
NPJ Seattle 17 National
NPJ was another team that posted a 6-0 record, and they will be challenging the upper flights in the next round of the NWPL. Holley McFadden Holley McFadden 6'4" | MB Bainbridge | 2025 State WA has been tough to stop in the middle offensively and defensively, and Alani Taliloa Alani Taliloa 5'10" | OH Mt. Rainier | 2025 State WA brings reliable heat from the outside. NPJ played in control and with a purpose, the team was well prepared after a high-level weekend of play at the MLK Houston event in mid-January.
Ferrin is a 2024 OH out of University High School in the Spokane, Valley, committed to Salt Lake CC. When she is cranking on all cylinders as a six-rotation outside, Renovators are hard to beat. Ferrin has a live arm and solid size at 6’0″, with a developing off-speed game, delivering as a passer and defender was a key for her team this weekend. The team is not incredibly tall on the pin, but have quickness and the right setter to run fast tempo. That takes solid passing and ball control, Ferrin was locked in this weekend.
SNVF 18 Secret- Puget Sound Power League
The Puget Sound Power League had terrific matchups in pool play and the crossover matchups, and the Sudden Impact 16s faced off against the SNVF 18s after three grueling pool matches. Space Needle dug it out in three- 16-14 after SIVBC won the 2nd set 27-25. Lauryn Coleman Lauryn Coleman 6'0" | MB Lakeside | 2026 State WA was explosive for SIVBC out of the middle, but SNVF had power available as well with pins Madyn Cervellera Madyn Cervellera 6'0" | OH North Creek | 2024 State WA and Violet Burchak Violet Burchak 5'10" | RS Shorecrest | 2024 State WA . In this battle, the experienced team took it home, SIVBC will be out to close the deal in the next matchup.
PSR Power League 16’s- PJVBC 16 National
The Puyallup Juniors 16’s fought hard to take home a final match win over a very competitive Apex NW 16 Summit team, winning the third set 15-13. Colby Bellerive Colby Bellerive 5'6" | DS/L Emerald Ridge | 2026 State WA is playing tremendous ball out of the setter spot for PJVBC, she is crafty and a threat to score on two at any moment. The team is scrappy, and skilled, has fun competing, and delivers pop from the pin with Mia Nelson Mia Nelson 5'9" | MB Curtis | 2027 State WA ripping kills. Apex NW has put together an excellent squad in their own right, Hayden Niewiadomski Hayden Niewiadomski 5'8" | OH Sehome | 2026 State WA and crew pushed till the end and should have an excellent showing this club season.
Shockwave 16
Shockwave teams stayed close to home and delivered strong performances in the Tri-Cities Meltdown. The big win was delivered by the Shockwave 16s, who took down a solid Shockwave 18s in the final match for first place in the tournament. The 16’s group played outstanding defense, hustling to keep balls off the floor and extend rally after rally. Callie Schoenberg provided plenty of offense from the outside and Aliyah Malone Aliyah Malone 5'9" | MB River View | 2025 State WA was terminal from the middle when the team was in system. The defense truly carried the day, Avery Beck handled the libero spot, but her partner in the back row Jocelyn Gaca Jocelyn Gaca 5'7" | DS/L Hanford | 2026 State WA was just as impressive.
Gaca is a 2026 prospect who did solid work for Hanford this high school season, and was all hustle and energy for Shockwave at the Meltdown. With Beck and Gaca in, the team rolls out two starting level liberos together and the Shockwave offense benefits with their ability to pass and create extra opportunities. Gaca played with confidence and delivered some critical digs when her team needed it most.
Highlights
CEVA POWER LEAGUE-OJVA 18 GOLD
CEVA Power League featured two teams with several Washington athletes playing in the top two, Oregon Juniors 18 Gold and Athena 18 Gold. OJVA 18 won the match, 25-15 and 25-20. OJVA features 2025 Kendall Mairs Kendall Mairs 5'11" | OH Camas | 2025 State #84 Nation WA and 2024 Halle Reiter Halle Reiter 5'4" | DS/L Camas | 2024 State #138 Nation WA from Camas, and Sydney Dreves Sydney Dreves 5'11" | OH Columbia River | 2025 State #80 Nation WA out of Columbia River. Mairs went on a big service run to start OJVA on their way in the second set, dealing a tough float to push the score from 8-8 to 13-8. Ultimately, Athena cut the 18-11 OJVA lead to 23-20 before the final 25-20 second set win sealed the deal.
Dreves is a 2025 prospect from Washington, the six-rotation outside from Columbia River recently announced her commitment to Boise State. Her passing and defense are top notch for an outside, the future Bronco has a developing array of shots from the pipe and has the athleticism and quickness to run the BIC effectively. Dreves started off set two with a monster stuff block, making sure OJVA stayed focused after a convincing win in set one. The two setters for OJVA, Mairs and Elisabeth Levick, both have the strength and hands to find Dreves from anywhere on the court, giving OJVA solid out of system options in almost any situation.
