Volleyball Standouts Competing at State Track Meet

The group of competitors includes notable names from our volleyball community. That accomplishment is made more impressive when considering that the club campaign coincides with the prep track season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Here's a an overview:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>CLASS 4A</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Sisters [player_tooltip player_id='389019' first='Avery' last='Vogt'] and [player_tooltip player_id='490013' first='Logan' last='Vogt'] are two of the top volleyball players at their positions. They serve as great examples of the athleticism required for success on the court.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Logan logged the second-fastest qualifying time in the open 400 meters for state. She also was listed among potential runners in the 4x200, distance medley and 4x400 relays. Avery joined her among the 4x200 and DMR possibilities, and also could be in the 4x100 and sprint medley relay.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-[player_tooltip player_id='215760' first='Gabriella' last='Ragins'] enters the weekend as the top qualifier in the discus. She will be joined by [player_tooltip player_id='490014' first='Maliya' last='Cobb'] in that competition.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Three of the top seven qualifiers in the high jump also can be seen doing damage at the net. [player_tooltip player_id='215465' first='Reagan' last='Hanfelt'] (2), [player_tooltip player_id='360642' first='Sophia' last='Austen'] (4) and [player_tooltip player_id='389818' first='Hanley' last='Schmidt'] (7) will be competing for gold this weekend. They'll be joined in the field by high-end volleyballers in [player_tooltip player_id='215728' first='Kate' last='Nelson'], [player_tooltip player_id='389066' first='Cambel' last='Drapeau'] and [player_tooltip player_id='560368' first='Elle' last='Hatlevig']. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Hatlevig, a freshman, also is qualified in the long jump. She's among the state's top 2028s in two sports.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Nelson is listed among the Dowling possibilities in the shuttle hurdle and sprint medley relays. She led Johnston with 222 kills last fall. Her Mustang teammate, CaliAna Whitaker, qualified second in the open 400 and third in the 200. She's also listed among relay possibilities in the 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400.
