There were 13 tied scores and 6 lead changes in the semifinal match. [player_tooltip player_id='587062' first='Harper' last='Wendlick'] stepped up in a huge way for the Dashers. She made big kills when the team needed it most and was absolutely fearless on the court. Harper contributed 16 kills, 2 aces, and 6 digs. She was also a main target on serve recieve and handled the pressure very well. [player_tooltip player_id='809763' first='Maddie' last='Brown'] was as efficient as ever on both offense and defense. [player_tooltip player_id='545505' first='Tegan' last='Loechler'] contributed as a setter and right side hitter. And [player_tooltip player_id='800247' first='Abigail' last='Buckner'] was relentless at the libero position. This team is so well-rounded in every position, it is hard to highlight only a few players.

Waunakee put everything into this match. After sweeping a talented Kimberly team in the quarterfinals in a tight match, Waunakee came and battled point for point with DSHA, the top-ranked team in the state. [player_tooltip player_id='345274' first='Lauren' last='Sprague'] played elite-level defense throughout the tournament. She could move corner to corner, pick up balls, and make it look easy. Her consistency and impact in the back row, as well as on offense, cannot be understated. [player_tooltip player_id='388460' first='Kaitlin' last='Van Wie'] has become an incredible 6-rotation force on the court. She is a go-to hitter and can be relied on to earn points in big moments. Setters [player_tooltip player_id='587068' first='Lauren' last='Van Wie'] and [player_tooltip player_id='435879' first='Amy' last='Denkert'] both played great matches all week.

Quick Quarterfinal Notes

Kimberly had a tough time getting past Waunakee's defense, but they never gave up and battled for every point. [player_tooltip player_id='249636' first='Ava' last='Van Hammond'] was an all-around impact player who contributed to nearly every stat possible from aces to assists and digs to blocks. Bri Hagglund was a go-to hitter and consistent point earner for Kimberly. Libero [player_tooltip player_id='809331' first='Finley' last='Van Lannen'] was an all-out baller in the back row. She did not record any serve receive errors, had 3 aces, and 18 digs.

Stevens Point Area High School really started to heat up as the match went on. Libero [player_tooltip player_id='500399' first='Lenna' last='Mayer'] was fearless against DSHA's powerhouse offense, recording 11 digs and only 1 reception error. Leah Awe was a massive and efficient impact player, earning 8 kills on 12 attempts with no errors. She also had 3 blocks.

Hamilton

Quarterfinal win over Verona 25-20, 25-9, 25-11

Semifinal win over Oconomowoc 19-25, 16-25, 25-19, 25-16, 15-10

After handling Verona in straight sets, Hamilton dug deep and showed their grit today in a reverse sweep against Oconomowoc. Despite dropping sets one and two quite quickly, a few lineup switches to give some better blocking matchups and offensive looks, and this team was able to fight back point by point. Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='734111' first='Claire' last='Baldwin'] was an absolute showstopper with 13 kills and 2 blocks.
