Super Tuesday: Central Arkansas Dominates the Headliner Matches
In this article:
The road to Hot Springs is getting shorter, and Tuesday night brings some big-time volleyball to Central Arkansas.
With conference titles and postseason seeding on the line, several of the state's top teams face important matchups. Rivalries, talented players and plenty at stake. This should be a fun night of volleyball.
Let's take a look at the headliners.
Bryant at Cabot | 6A-Central Heavyweight Battle
If you're in Central Arkansas tonight, this is the one to see. First-place Cabot 21-5-2 (9-1) hosts third-place Bryant 15-11 (7-2) in a 6A-Central heavyweight battle.
Bryant has the firepower to test Cabot's defense. Sophomore sensation

give the Panthers multiple options to put the ball away.
But what really sets Cabot apart is its defense. The Panthers are strong along the front line and have solid back-row players who make opponents work for every point.
Bryant has the weapons to challenge that defense, and Cabot has the balance to answer. This is THE match to watch in Central Arkansas tonight.
Key Players:
The powerful Gigerich will face one of the better blocking teams in the state. She's more than up to the challenge, but she'll have to work to find open shots against a Cabot defense that can challenge her from multiple spots along the net.
The early-season knock on Gigerich was her hitting percentage, but she's become much more comfortable in the Bryant offense, raising that number to a very solid .272. She recently put together four straight matches hitting over .400, highlighted by a monster 18-kill performance in a five-set battle against Central. She committed zero attacking errors and hit an incredible .750 in that match.
Watching Gigerich go against Cabot's front line should be one of the highlights of the night.
Season Stats: 83 sets | 307 kills | 3.7 kps | .272 hp | 208 digs | 24 blocks

Anderson is one of those leaders. She can fill just about any role on the court, but really excels at setting and can bring the heat from the pins when called upon. She's a big part of what makes this Belles team so dangerous.

If this one is anything like the first meeting, we're in for another great match.
Key Players:
In the first meeting with LRCA, Castillo went on several stretches where she seemed unstoppable. At other times, the offense seemed to go away from her. PA will need to keep her fully involved throughout the match this time.
Elizabeth has a variety of shots that can really keep a defense off balance. She, along with Rachel Ardion and

She'll need to be on her game against a Conway offense that can attack from just about anywhere on the court. But you can bet Maddy will be in the right spot, ready to make a play.
She's a vocal leader who sets the tone for the Tigers' defense. Look for her all over the court tonight.
