Askin made not have put up the numbers of some of her teammates, but she’s still provided valuable leadership all season. Askin uses her size well to deflect balls and give the Rockets depth on the outside. Askin agreed blocks are often overlooked as people mainly focus on the kills, but Askin said blocks give teams momentum and therefore should get more credit.

Askin commands attention from the outside with her rhythm and size. She often goes one-on-one with other blockers because both the 17 Red and Assumption teams are loaded with hitters. She has a good wrist snap to put more power on the ball and makes sound adjustments in mid-air. That includes pushing the ball near the opposite pin.

Askin does a great job angling balls away from hitters, especially from the pin to the near opposite pin against double block attempts. She takes great approaches to the ball and puts a lot of power into balls for solid line drives. Askin can also take some power off balls if needed to place in between defenders in the back row.
