About Nevaeh

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I love playing volleyball. I am consistent and make very few errors. You can depend on me to make the smart play.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I would say that I have grit on the volleyball court. I’m willing to put in the work, push through and leave it all on the court. I’m a kind, compassionate teammate that supports and encourages everyone on the court.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am on the Honor Roll.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve gained a better understanding of myself through volleyball. I’m more confident in myself, I’ve learned how to be a “quiet leader” that teammates respect and listen to. I’ve learned that no one is successful on their own. Everyone needs people around them to be successful.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Through school and club volleyball, I’ve had a lot of different coaches. Some have believed in me and some have doubted me. I think I play best when I’m given an opportunity to prove the doubters wrong. I also sprained my ankle and tore ligaments in it freshman year. So, I missed the last month of the school season while I was in a boot.

What type of college are you looking for?

A college that sees the potential in me. Preferably in Nebraska.

Gretna High School has drawn plenty of buzz in the Class of 2028, but we can’t leave out the new wave of upperclassmen. Hilderbrand, like Deats, has become a major stock riser for Nebraska Elite and has accelerated her development with the club’s top 16s squad. She embodies the qualities Gretna looks for in its outside hitters: poise, athleticism, and a willingness to lock things down in the middle-back area. The Class B scene is taking off.
