About Sofia

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a powerful, high-energy hitter who plays with intensity and focus. I love taking big swings and making smart, strategic plays that keep my team in control. I bring consistent communication, leadership, and positivity to every match, and I thrive under pressure when the game is on the line.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m confident, coachable, and competitive, with a calm mindset that keeps me focused under pressure. I bring energy, positivity, and grit to every match and take pride in being a leader who lifts up my teammates. I love pushing myself and others to get better every day and always compete with heart.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I serve as the Secretary for A Sense of Home, a nonprofit that prevents homelessness by creating homes and a community of care for displaced individuals and families. I also volunteer with the St. Sebastian Sports Project, helping young athletes from underfunded communities learn volleyball skills and build confidence through sports.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One of my biggest challenges has been balancing academics, volleyball, and leadership responsibilities while staying consistent in all areas. There have been times when juggling schoolwork, travel, and training pushed me to my limits, but it’s taught me time management, perseverance, and how to stay mentally strong under pressure. Those experiences have made me a more focused and resilient.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college with a highly competitive volleyball program where I can be challenged every day—both academically and athletically. I want a school that values teamwork, discipline, and personal growth, with a coaching staff that pushes players to reach their potential. Finding a positive, tight-knit team culture and strong academic environment is really important to me.
