Highlights
Flint Hill (13-2) – In their first Independent School League (ISL) matches they swept the next best in the conference, Georgetown Day and Bullis. They have not lost a set in the ISL since 2011. Their top offensive players are Mickhaila Murray Mickhaila Murray 5'11" | OH Flint Hill | 2024 State VA and Ryla Jones Ryla Jones 6'4" | MB Flint Hill | 2024 State #80 Nation VA . The 6’3″ setter Isabelle Bardin Isabelle Bardin 6'3" | S Flint Hill | 2025 State #121 Nation VA also gets her share of kills when she plays the right side.
Langley (10-1) – Their lone loss was to Madison in a Richamond tournament. They have swept everyone else. Lots of firepower on this team but the pins Ana Toumazatos Ana Toumazatos 6'1" | OH Langley | 2025 State VA and Leni Stanton-Parker Leni Stanton-Parker 6'0" | OH Langley | 2025 State #116 Nation VA makes this offense rumble.
Bishop O’Connell (13-5) – They have won their last 12 matches without losing a set. The big weapons are Jocelyn Pye Jocelyn Pye 6'0" | OH Bishop O'Connell | 2025 State VA and Madison Bowser Madison Bowser 6'2" | MB Bishop O'Connell | 2024 State VA , but they can beat you from many different positions if they are in system.
Highlights
Riverside (11-0) – They had a big win against their Division rival Briar Woods. After losing the first two sets they pulled off a reverse sweep. Simone Schaefer Simone Schaefer 5'11" | OH Riverside | 2025 State VA and Adriana Perodin Adriana Perodin 5'9" | OH Riverside | 2024 State VA are lethal from the outside and Brianna Holladay Brianna Holladay 6'2" | MB Riverside | 2025 State VA attacks from the middle.
Holy Cross (5-0) – Most teams do not carry a U.S. National team player on their roster who just so happened to win an international gold medal. The Tartans carry one on their roster in Emerson Sellman Emerson Sellman 6'4" | OH Academy of Holy Cross | 2024 State #5 Nation VA , probably the top player in the DMV area. Last week AVCA voted her player of the week. Good Counsel transfer Sarah Jeremias Sarah Jeremias 5'11" | OH Holy Cross | 2025 State VA has been the other offensive threat.
Chantilly (7-1) – The Chargers were recently ambushed at Oakton, losing in five. The offensive load on that team is carried by Lameen Mambu Lameen Mambu 6'0" | OH Chantilly | 2025 State #64 Nation VA . Frida Sagastume Frida Sagastume 5'8" | RS Chantilly | 2024 VA has risen to be a nice alternative choice.
Colgan (9-1) – The Sharks have been proving that the rumors about their death in the volleyball scene is false. Like Langley, their only loss has been to Madison in the same Richmond tournament. Aubrey Hatch Aubrey Hatch 6'1" | OH Colgan | 2024 State VA is their main offensive threat, but Skylar Johnson and Tehillah Garrison Tehillah Garrison 5'9" | OH Colgan | 2026 State VA have been making contributions.

Richard Montgomery (6-1) – They were swept by a strong Bullis team, but the Rockets have also captured sweeps in five of their six wins. Ema Djordjevic Ema Djordjevic 6'0" | OH Richard Montgomery | 2025 State VA does it all leading the team in assists and kills. Her primary targets when setting are Elizabeth Mitchell Elizabeth Mitchell 5'9" | OH Richard Montgomery | 2026 State VA and Caroline Kaye Caroline Kaye 6'1" | MB Richard Montgomery | 2025 State VA .

Arundel (5-0) – The Wildcats have only lost one set as they bully their way through the competition. Briar Woods (15-2) – After winning the first two sets against their division rival Riverside, the Falcons stumbled to lose the last three sets. Their only other loss has been to power house Hidden Valley. Fourteen of their fifteen wins have been by sweeps. The Falcons fly high with the lefthanded swing of right side Skyler Riggio Skyler Riggio 6'1" | RS Briar Woods | 2024 State VA and the strength of middle Shannon Callaghan Shannon Callaghan 5'11" | MB Briar Woods | 2024 State VA .

Woodson (10-1) – Their only loss was to Riverside. The Cavaliers have bounced back from that loss by sweeping their opponents in their last five wins, four of them division conquests. The two outsides Maura Fay Maura Fay 6'1" | OH Woodson | 2024 State VA and Emma Gardner Emma Gardner 6'3" | OH WT Woodson | 2026 State VA create most of the offense with their kills. The 6’3″ Emma Gardner Emma Gardner 6'3" | OH WT Woodson | 2026 State VA plays all six rotations.

Glenelg (9-0-1) – The Gladiators have made their first appearance in the top twenty this year. Urbana (8-1) – Their only loss was against Good Counsel. After that loss they swept through their opponents in the last four games. The offensive juice comes from middle Simone Assasie Simone Assasie 5'9" | MB Urbana | 2026 State VA and outsides Lilly Eichelberger and Talia DoCarmo Talia DoCarmo OH Tuscarora | 2026 State VA . Both Simone and Talia are sophomores.
James Wood (12-2) – The Colonels lost two matches at the Endless Summer tournament, one to Flint Hill and the other to Hidden Valley. Nothing to be ashamed of there. They’ve also beaten Dominion, Millbrook and defending West Virginia state champion Mullelman. Another big game against their conference rival Millbrook is scheduled for Thursday. Kennedy Spaid Kennedy Spaid 5'11" | OH James Wood | 2026 State VA leads this offense. Ashlynn Spence Ashlynn Spence 5'8" | MB James Wood | 2024 State VA ranks number two in kills but setter Paige Ahakuelo Paige Ahakuelo 5'8" | S James Wood | 2024 State VA falls just behind her.

Madison (11-2) – A surprise team led by a frosh who played libero for club last season. Laila Chadwick Laila Chadwick 5'8" | DS/L James Madison | 2027 State VA is killing it as an outside for the Warhawks. A five set divisional loss to Chantilly hurt. Next up Oakton who upset Chantilly last week. Middles Riley Lynch Riley Lynch 6'0" | MB James Madison | 2025 State VA and Camille Pomeroy Camille Pomeroy 6'2" | MB Madison | 2024 State VA also help with the offense.

Georgetown Day (8-3) – The Hoppers next big game would be Wednesday against Bullis. Both teams have lost to Flint Hill. The Hoppers only other losses have been to Hidden Valley and Oviedo (Florida). Jada Aksu Jada Aksu 6'0" | RS Georgetown Day | 2025 State VA leads the team in kills with her left handed right side swing. Zoe Ryu Zoe Ryu 6'2" | OH Georgetown Day | 2025 State VA and Aaliyah Howell Aaliyah Howell 5'9" | OH Georgetown Day | 2024 State VA contribute from the left side.
Bullis (4-2) – See above for their game against the Hoppers. The Bulldogs two losses have come against Holy Cross and Flint Hill. They did sweep Richard Montgomery in their opener. Recent Penn State commit Alexis Ewing Alexis Ewing 6'3" | OH Bullis | 2025 State VA gets the bulk of the sets. Angelique Desamours Angelique Desamours 5'9" | OH bullis | 2025 State VA and right side Sydney Mayfield Sydney Mayfield 5'10" | RS Bullis | 2025 State VA also contribute to the offense.
Dominion (7-2) – After Broad Run embarrassed them with a sweep the Titans have bounced back, racking up five consecutive wins. Kaitlyn Demitz Kaitlyn Demitz 5'11" | RS Dominion | 2025 State VA leads the charge from the right side. Abigail Vasak Abigail Vasak MB Dominion | 2025 State VA works it from the middle, while Alena Smith Alena Smith 5'8" | OH Dominion | 2025 State VA contributes from the left side. All three players belong to the class of 2026 so the future looks bright.
Millbrook (8-1) – They started the season with six sweeps before losing to James Wood in five. Since that loss they have added two more sweeps to their ledger. Thursday, they get another chance at James Wood. Berkeley Konrady Berkeley Konrady 6'1" | OH Millbrook | 2025 State VA and Grace Behneke light it up from the left side. Watch out for the development of frosh Aaliyah Green Aaliyah Green 5'9" | OH Millbrook | 2027 State VA , who also plays a pin.
Loudoun County (8-2) – At the start of the season they lost their first two matches against powerhouses Briar Woods and Riverside. They have rattled off 8 straight wins since then. Madison LaRue Madison LaRue 5'9" | OH Loudoun County | 2024 State VA , frosh Kayla Luther Kayla Luther 5'8" | OH Loudoun County | 2027 State VA and Josephine Seekford all pressure the opposition from the pins.
