The class of 2025 rankings update is live, and our coverage starts with a closer look at many of the uncommitted stars in the junior class. A crucial club season is on tap for this group of outstanding prospects, and we expect college commitments to arrive in bunches as the players and coaches connect at national tournaments.

Is it possible some of these players have verbal commitments in place? Yes! No doubt visits, discussions, and decisions have been made, but not formally announced. Until it hits Instagram, we won't count it here! All verbal commitments are non-binding, and players can change their minds with no penalty until the letter of intent is signed. Women's volleyball has a very high rate of players sticking with verbal commitments, however.

Here is our first look at the 2025 rankings and some of the top ranked and uncommitted players.

PIN HITTERS

[player_tooltip player_id='249444' first='Sydney' last='Dreves'] is the #2 ranked overall prospect and depending on what position OJVA 18 teammate [player_tooltip player_id='249445' first='Kendall' last='Mairs'] (S/OH/RS) is listed as- the #1 or #2 OH. Dreves won another state title this season with Columbia River and is one of the top defenders available as a six-rotation outside. Dreves is long and mobile, with tremendous attention to detail in serve receive and a competitive streak that shows up when she is patrolling the middle back.

A team looking for a hammer arm should start and stop the search with [player_tooltip player_id='253253' first='Alani' last='Taliloa']. The Mt. Rainier terminator was named League MVP and helped carry the Rams to some big wins with a team featuring no seniors on the roster.

[player_tooltip player_id='250396' first='Lexie' last='Mason'] from Burlington-Edison is a left-handed RS with tremendous power and length at a solid 6'1. She was one of the overall state leaders in kills and will play this season with WVBA. [player_tooltip player_id='275202' first='Adeline' last='Daniel'] is a textbook right-side, 6'3, with a solid lefty swing and a dominant block- and she added setting into the mix during high school ball. We expect to see her back on the pin for the most part with Sudden Impact 17-Storm. SIVBC will have [player_tooltip player_id='447366' first='Nora' last='Prophater'] taking swings on the right side too, another lefty 2025 prospect who has an electric swing.

Eastlake has two 2025 attackers that will be sought after by college coaches during the 2024 club season. [player_tooltip player_id='233837' first='Ella' last='Neubauer'] is a six-foot outside with excellent overall skills and athleticism indoors and on the beach. [player_tooltip player_id='272966' first='Finley' last='Johnson'] continues to move the needle in the rankings and with college coaches and is now 6'1 with the ability to attack with authority from either pin.

SETTERS

The setters in the class start appearing in the rankings at the #10 overall position. The sheer height and talent of the class pushes down the setters and liberos a bit, height is a factor when we put together the overall rankings. The setters as a group have tremendous depth and skill from the beginning to the end of the rankings. [player_tooltip player_id='249381' first='Peyton' last='Ensign'] from Curtis is top-ranked at the position and #10 overall. Left-handed with solid size and athleticism, Ensign has experience setting a fast offense with high-level players and her decision-making and location are top-notch. [player_tooltip player_id='249189' first='Ava' last='Jo Berry'] from Wenatchee is the top defender at the setter position and possibly one of the best athletes in the state inch for inch. She checks in as the #14 overall prospect and should be in college coaches' sights after leading Wenatchee to the state 4A title.

Two setters we expect to make big moves this club season are [player_tooltip player_id='231726' first='Isabelle' last='Foote'] and [player_tooltip player_id='250398' first='Callie' last='Curran']. Foote will be setting a solid group of attackers with her Dakine 17 Surf team and will show off her ability to push the ball pin to pin to create positive matchups. Foote and her Tahoma squad made a terrific run to the state tournament during the school ball season. Curran will dish for Athena 17-2 this season, she will be counted on to use her height and dynamic setting to keep the squad in the flow. Curran is a winner who knows how to find her key attackers with the match on the line.

[player_tooltip player_id='220494' first='Reese' last='Sheppard'] has continued to be among the best in the state at delivering assists and winning matches. She can attack when needed and plays very good defense in the back row.

[player_tooltip player_id='249414' first='Addison' last='Eastwood'] has a super release and is comfortable in the 5-1. She will play for WVBA again this season and the smooth athlete from Jackson High School will have college coaches interested in her ability to command the court.

MIDDLES

Here is a three-pack of middles that should and most likely do already have offers on the table. [player_tooltip player_id='207444' first='Lauren' last='Wiese'] is tremendous attacking off one foot, with a big arm and terrific strength and size at 6'3. She moves with urgency and has a high work rate anytime she is on the court. [player_tooltip player_id='184440' first='Ziah' last='Sneva'] is a long 6'2, and she competes fiercely as an attacker and a blocker. She went head-to-head with [player_tooltip player_id='233895' first='Ava' last='Durgan'] from Mead in the state tournament and held her own, finding creative ways to score while being the main focus of the Panther's defense. [player_tooltip player_id='268468' first='Holley' last='McFadden'] was the Olympic League MVP playing outside hitter, and the 6'3 junior will move back to the middle during club. That versatility should play well with college programs scouting the Bainbridge star.

DS/LIBERO

Liberos are often the last recruits to secure spots on college rosters as coaches chase after height and the more high-profile positions. Inevitably though, matches are won and lost by the team that handles first contacts the best. The two defenders at the top of the rankings are unchanged, and [player_tooltip player_id='181633' first='Victoria' last='Gao'] and [player_tooltip player_id='266202' first='Manaia' last='Alefaio-Foifua'] are both deserving of positions at quality college programs. Gao is a team leader with advanced defensive skills and acumen that match her tremendous energy and enthusiasm. She will be playing for the WVBA 18s this season. Alefaio-Foifua is a high-major athlete with quickness and agility that matches up with the best of the best defenders on the volleyball court. She can turn a sure point into a highlight reel save in the blink of an eye. [player_tooltip player_id='249416' first='Tessa' last='Mossburg'] and [player_tooltip player_id='249186' first='McKenna' last='Ball'] will both be competing for up-and-coming clubs in [program_tooltip program_id='476225' first='Spaceneedle' last='Volleyball Foundation'] and Shockwave respectively. Mossburg is as tough as they come and is willing to get on the ground or into the stands to save a point. Ball is a rock-steady performer out of the Tri-Cities who consistently delivers excellent passing on first contact for every team she plays with.
