The first stop of the Tour of Texas was amazing as we had top Open level teams from all over the country come to Houston to compete. We had three scouts in the gym to cover a lot of the amazing play that went on. This weekend is the second stop of the Tour and it will be held in Austin, TX. This stop has some awesome match ups that we are very eager to see. Let's take a look at some of the amazing teams and players to watch out for.

Power Pool #1

We have some usual suspects in this pool with top seeded [program_tooltip program_id='510661' first='Houston' last='Skyline'] 17 Royal, Dallas Skyline 17 Royal Ping, and TAV 17 Black Jon all ready for battle. The newcomer to the power pools in stop two is [program_tooltip program_id='745880' first='Houston' last='Stellar'] 17 Elite. They had an amazing run last tournament and earned the right to move up. Head coach Jerry Aldridge has an awesome squad and has been a staple in the Lone Star region for quite some time. They went 5-2 overall last stop and showed that they belong in the conversation of top teams in the state. Led by the awesome setting of [player_tooltip player_id='518983' first='Caryme' last='Molina'] and [player_tooltip player_id='553115' first='Baylee' last='Foster'], this team is rolling. They both do a great job of feeding middles [player_tooltip player_id='580021' first='Julia' last='Wright'] and [player_tooltip player_id='579993' first='Audrina' last='Silva'] while in system. Speaking of In system, libero [player_tooltip player_id='453167' first='Haley' last='Patton'] has been all over the court to make sure that she gives her team a fighting chance to compete in every match. I love how active she was on the court last tourney and there will be more of the same in this one. [player_tooltip player_id='254283' first='Nevaeh' last='English'] is going to continue to battle at the net against everyone's top hitters and she will do a great job. She keeps her hands high and has great timing on the block. The live arm of [player_tooltip player_id='254073' first='Avery' last='Koonsen'] on the left side pin will be very dangerous. This young lady knows nothing but scoring at a high clip. High-flying [player_tooltip player_id='254306' first='Taylor' last='Bonner-Williams'] will add some more firepower for this team to compete against the open level talent in this pool. There are some lethal adversaries to watch out for on these squads like [player_tooltip player_id='197468' first='Jayden' last='Robinson'], [player_tooltip player_id='318128' first='Halle' last='Thompson'], [player_tooltip player_id='318202' first='Layla' last='Austin'] [player_tooltip player_id='318137' first='Keoni' last='Williams'], [player_tooltip player_id='253981' first='Ashlyn' last='Seay'], [player_tooltip player_id='320954' first='Kylie' last='Kleckner'], and [player_tooltip player_id='295124' first='Kinsley' last='Young'] to name a few. Keep your eyes on these young ladies as they look to get ready for Qualifier season by testing their skills.

Power Pool #2

Two of the teams listed need no introduction as they are staples of the Open division every year. [program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='Madfrog' last=''] 17 National Green and Austin Skyline have some NCAA division one talent all throughout their rosters. High-flying [player_tooltip player_id='235287' first='Kennedy' last='Crayton'], [player_tooltip player_id='226072' first='Dawn' last='Moore'], Aubrey Fernandez, [player_tooltip player_id='302598' first='Gabriella' last='Rodriguez'], [player_tooltip player_id='306916' first='Rileigh' last='Butler'], [player_tooltip player_id='318198' first='Riley' last='Malloy'], [player_tooltip player_id='318127' first='Henley' last='Anderson'], and [player_tooltip player_id='318132' first='Joy' last='Udoye'] are just to name a few of the stars to watch in this pool. Two other teams that will look to dethrone these juggernauts are [program_tooltip program_id='462263' first='TAV' last='Houston'] 17 Adidas and Integrity 17 Intense Blue. [program_tooltip program_id='462263' first='TAV' last='Houston'] had some absolute battles last stop and showed that they can match up with anyone in the country if they all play together. With studs like [player_tooltip player_id='218999' first='Simone' last='Robinson'], [player_tooltip player_id='224309' first='Mia' last='Crowley'], [player_tooltip player_id='396771' first='Ava' last='Gibbs'], [player_tooltip player_id='443024' first='Justice' last='Rachal'], [player_tooltip player_id='235997' first='Cali' last='Reece'], [player_tooltip player_id='254288' first='Peytyn' last='Pyle'] and [player_tooltip player_id='269780' first='Arianna' last='Muoneke'] leading the way, they have the personnel to beat anyone. Head coach Branden Smeltzer has plenty of experience to strategize his way to coming out on top. The dark horse team that we are looking at in this pool is Integrity 17 Intense Blue. They are relatively unknown in the open level and can easily catch someone off-guard if they get overlooked. Coming off of a 5-3 record and earning their spot in this power pool, they have made a name for themselves so far. These two squads did face off last stop with [program_tooltip program_id='462263' first='TAV' last='Houston'] coming out on top in three sets. But Integrity will be looking for some payback. Led by the leadership of Abbigale Parr who runs their 5-1 scheme with no fear, they will be ready to battle. One of their top studs is six-rotation outside Malia Miller who can cover a lot of ground out of middle back with her lengthy frame. She also has tons of power to score at will in the front row. This team will go as far as her right arm will lead them. Middle Meghan Clark proved to be a big weapon for this team and will be looked at again to replicate her dominance against this open level talent.
