LOUIS - </strong>Moving day here at the Nike President's Day Classic proved eventful. Top teams from Iowa jockeyed for position Sunday for what should be a marvelous Monday in the Americas Center.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I made it a point to check out one of my favorite groups of kids that will be off to college next season, for the most part. Adrenaline 18-Jeff did not disappoint. It posted a 5-1 record through two days in the 18 Premier Division.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Marion's [player_tooltip player_id='447490' first='Carlee' last='Webber'] has been one of the state's more under-appreciated stars during the last few years. She was cooking through six rotations again on Sunday. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='215388' first='Adalyn' last='Hermanson'] of Cedar Rapids Kennedy looked sharp in helping this squad as an all-around performer, and twins Kelsey and [player_tooltip player_id='730856' first='Kira' last='Klesner'] were hammering the opponent from the pins. [player_tooltip player_id='555717' first='Kaycee' last='Cory'] used her length to stand out at setter. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Adrenaline 16-Dan enjoyed a 3-0 Sunday with a team that looked connected on the court. [player_tooltip player_id='555712' first='Sophia' last='Meester'] provides all-around excellence for this outfit after helping Mount Vernon win a state championship in the Fall. She's improved her play in the back row since season's end.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lila Eastvold settled in at setter for Iowa City West in 2024 and has continued growing into being a complete player at the position. The Cedar Rapids Kennedy duo of [player_tooltip player_id='525829' first='Addison' last='Phillips'] and [player_tooltip player_id='555707' first='Skyylan' last='Ousley'] showed they're a problem for opponents at the net here and will be one for MVC opponents for the next two years. Libero was in the good hands of Zoe Blaum from Galena (IL) High. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A scrappy Rockets 15R squad posted a 4-2 mark in the open division during the first two days of the tournament. We noted strong player from several players on this team in our <a href="https://prepdig.com/2025/02/day-1-at-presidents-day-st-louis-notes-observations/">Day 1 Observations and Notes</a>. Libero [player_tooltip player_id='759979' first='Julianna' last='Montez'] has been really good this weekend as well, sharing a good connection with setter [player_tooltip player_id='730426' first='Hazel' last='Schluckebier']. [player_tooltip player_id='730449' first='Kylee' last='Suhr'] performed really well on Sunday, too.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Iowa Select 17 Mizuno rolls into championship Monday with a 5-1 mark in the open division following a 3-0 Day 2. It's hard to overstate the value of McKenzie Moeller in this operation. The six-rotation stalwart delivers in the clutch no matter where she lines up on the floor.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The middle combination of [player_tooltip player_id='230661' first='Ellah' last='Derrer'] and [player_tooltip player_id='630696' first='Erin' last='Robbins'] has best mosted opponent duos there by a considerable margin. Super setter [player_tooltip player_id='389006' first='Carsyn' last='Kelley'] has mixed up her offerings well with [player_tooltip player_id='455710' first='Kiley' last='Devery'] and [player_tooltip player_id='389818' first='Hanley' last='Schmidt'] cashing in from the pins. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Iowa United 16-1 Elite barreled into Monday at 6-0 in the open division. It's second team is 5-1 in the competitive Premier Blue Division. I'll keep banging the drum for all-around Kaitlin Loria, who is one of the better athletes in her class.
