Texas High School Report Vol 3

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Texas High School volleyball season is now upon us.&nbsp; Last season there were some amazing teams and super competitive matches that took place.&nbsp; Everyone is practicing hard to solidify their lineups in order to chase the ultimate prize, a State Championship.&nbsp; There have been some big tournaments that have happened over the past few weeks and we are already starting to see some fireworks.&nbsp; Let's take a closer look at who is standing out for these teams on the rise.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Southlake Carroll Dragons</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Dragons of Southlake Carroll have been on a roll so far this season.&nbsp; Currently they sit at 15-3 overall.&nbsp; Head coach Leslie Jackson has had some amazing teams come through her program and this one is a special.&nbsp; They have what it takes to make a very long run in the playoffs with the roster that we see.&nbsp; The main thing they have on their side is experience.&nbsp; They are an upperclassmen led squad with elite ballers.&nbsp; The talented duo of senior left side six-rotation killer [player_tooltip player_id='318202' first='Layla' last='Austin'] and senior all-world middle blocker [player_tooltip player_id='295124' first='Kinsley' last='Young'] will make any team tremble.&nbsp; They are both extremely battle tested and are not afraid of anyone.&nbsp; We have seen them destroy opponents at the net over the last three years and they are looking for blood in their final year at the school.&nbsp; They are not the only weapons on this talented squad.&nbsp; Pin attacker [player_tooltip player_id='804908' first='Teddy-Raye' last='Ewers'] has been on fire early this season with excellent shot selection.&nbsp; She is also a pretty stable passer out of serve receive to help keep the offense flowing.&nbsp; Senior setter Emma Eyster and freshman setter [player_tooltip player_id='743563' first='Mariel' last='Elizondo'] are dishing the ball well while running the offensive scheme.&nbsp; The back row is being held down by senior libero Lauren St. Charles who is a digging machine.&nbsp; Her low posture is her signature and it is helping to keep her squad in system.&nbsp; Junior outside [player_tooltip player_id='433624' first='Audree' last='Hughes'] is another big reason why this team has so much firepower.&nbsp; There are many more stars that we will be covering on this team so stay tuned for some in depth coverage on them as the season continues.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Mansfield Tigers</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Do not sleep on this big cat as they are roaring loud to get everyone to notice them.  They are currently 20-1 overall and proving that they belong in the conversation of best squads in the state.  There is one big reason for their sudden emergence in the polls and that is due to freshman phenom [player_tooltip player_id='580697' first='Mary-Christine' last='Crutcher'] who is leading their offense in kills by a long shot.  We have seen her in our showcases up close and personal and I knew that she would burst onto the big stage from the moment the curtains opened.  Her outstanding vertical, high touch, and lightning quick arm swing all provide a lot of entertainment to the spectators who are lucky enough to have a seat at each match.  She is the real deal and I strongly suggest you get to know her name now.  Senior [player_tooltip player_id='433610' first='Kylie' last='Meche'] is also providing some much needed help in the offense department.  She is second on the team in kills and has a solid .244 hitting percentage also.  The back row floor general for this squad is senior libero Natlaie Peak and she is playing excellent defense to help this team to their impressive record.  The amazing sophomore setting duo of [player_tooltip player_id='580664' first='Emery' last='Thomson'] and Saydi Walker are balancing each other out very well while distributing the ball around.  We think they have tons of promise and think they will be tested as the season gets underway.  Let's see how long they can keep this huge momentum going. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As always stay tuned for more articles on your favorite teams and athletes.&nbsp; If you have anyone you think we should watch out for, please shoot me an email with some info at <a href="mailto:Michael@prepdig.com">Michael@prepdig.com</a>.&nbsp; Also don't forget to help these kids get more exposure by sharing our stories with your friends.&nbsp; Help us help them by simply retweeting on Twitter or sharing on Facebook.&nbsp; Thanks for following us, Prep Dig Texas Family!&nbsp; Don't be afraid to interact with us.&nbsp; We love the likes, shares, and quotes/comments.&nbsp; Keep them coming!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
