Gilliland has great size and athleticism and made the most of it this year for the Purples. Gilliland showed in the state tournament she can put balls down off sound blockers and on solid defensive specialists. She has tough crosses and can go off blockers on go routes. Gilliland also takes solid swings from the back row, setting her apart from many hitters. Gilliland can handle tough shots from sound hitters on defense and is a solid blocker.
