Coming into Junior Nationals Johanne stood out like a tree in a forest. I did not even recognize her participation in the Junior National Prep Dig showcase. She won a top performer award at this showcase, putting her on the map.
When watching her play for the Metro National 16 team she put some impressive quick tempo sets quickly to the floor. At 5’11” she has an approach jump of 9’8″. She plays for Sherwood.
A player who now appears on the radar. Shame on me for taking this long to notice her. Definitely a player a smaller college in need of middles needs to take a look at.

Johanne was not on my radar until she showed up for the National Prep Dig Showcase in Indianapolis. She was one of five middles that were highlighted in the showcase, standing out for her ability to pound balls down the line. Two of our Prep Dig scouts highlighted her play. That type of praise for one player is a reason to take notice.
While watching Metro National play in the Junior Nationals Johanne definitely made an impact. Her timing on the quick tempo sets was exemplary as balls were powered straight to the floor without touching an opponent’s hand. She also slides from pin to pin well allowing her to participate in a number of blocks.
She has certainly now placed herself squarely on my radar.
