Anwuli sneaked into the top 100 moving up 14 spots from 114. She also won a top performer award at the Prep Dig showcase at Junior Nationals. She has moved from the middle to the outside where her athleticism can break free.

Anwuli appears to have achieved success at the most challenging aspect of playing outside which is mastering the pass. At 5’9″ she brings the hops to fly high over the net. Playing for Metro National has also given her an opportunity to test her play against top level competition.

Last year she played middle for Good Counsel. This year she lists as an outside. Her team competes in the strong WCAC which will test her ability to hit outside.

Anwuli Okafor has embraced one of volleyball’s most demanding transitions, expanding from middle blocker into a six-rotation outside hitter without losing the strengths that made her successful at the net. That experience has given her a broader understanding of the game, allowing her to contribute through passing, defense, blocking, and attacking while developing into the type of player coaches can trust in every rotation. She measures success by her overall impact on the match, not simply the number of swings she takes.

That versatility becomes even more evident when adversity arrives. If her offense isn’t producing, Okafor immediately shifts her attention toward serve receive, defense, communication, transition play, and finding new ways to help her team succeed. One piece of coaching advice, trusting her passing angle, has strengthened her confidence in first contact and reinforced her belief that consistent fundamentals create consistent performance. She continues proving that creating opportunities isn’t limited to scoring points. Sometimes it’s about making every touch count.
