From a technical standpoint, Eva is a quality setter. All she need is the opportunity. Last year for Maryland Juniors 14 she lost playing time to

was the main setter. Eva did get some opportunities to set while also getting experience at the libero/ds position.
Metro must have liked what they saw in her because they asked her to set for Metro 16. At Prep Dig we also liked what we saw from her setting awarding her with a Top Performer award at a showcase last year. This year she will also be playing her grade.
While Metro 16 struggled in their first local open tournament failing to get in the Open, they bounced back at the City of Oaks Challenge finishing 5th. Their next challenge will be the Charm City Challenge this weekend.

for HS, I was looking for her to make a large name for herself with club season. Coming to Metro this year will set her up for some attention. She had some flashes this weekend of the star she will be, and despite getting used to a new unit of girls and hitters mostly, showed some of those great traits during the day. Although new club, there were some timing issues, people need to remember what time it is, and expect there to be a learning curve. All new crew of hitters, have to feel out who needs the ball where, and you could see a little bit of that, the timing just never seemed to consistently hit. Eva though still showed her skills and why she’s one of the area’s top prospects.

She played a year down with the powerful Maryland Juniors 14U team. The Maryland Jrs team finished the club season ranked number 19 nationally. Eva filled in as part of a three setter rotation where she eventually found herself squeezed out for playing time during Junior Nationals.
Eva attended our most recent Prep Dig showcase earning a top performer award. This earned her a spot at number 72 in our class of 2028 rankings. She brings nice hands and a solid consistency with the location of her sets. Her 5’7″ height may restrict her to a 6/2 back row setting offense.
This coming high school season she will set for Glenelg. The Gladiators already have an accomplished setter in

. For the most part Jessica set a 5/1 but Eva got some opportunity to play as a frosh. Glenelg finished the season 20-4 ultimately eliminated from states by Old Mill in a Class 3 Regional playoff match.

Eva showed consistency in location with her sets. She also worked well with the middles when running the quick tempo sets. At showcases that can be difficult to do when hitters are seeing setters for the first time. Setting for Maryland Jurs 14 Eva runs the quick tempo sets to her middles on a regular basis.
Eva will play at the Open level at the USAV Junior Nationals in Dallas. Last year this same group of girls took home the bronze in the National Division. This year they play in the Open Division.
During her high school frosh season last year she played on the varsity.

was the main setter for Glenelg. With her improvement over the club season Eva hopes to get more opportunities.
