Gao* continues to excel on the court, capturing first team honors and being named Defensive Player of the Year in the Metro-League. She has great foot speed, reads the game and is a tireless supporter of her teammates. The top ranked libero in the 2025 class did whatever her Lakeside team needed this season, even taking swings for the Lions when they needed it. Her second ball contact (setting) from the libero position is fantastic, she can feed it to either pin from just about any spot on the court.

Our #2 ranked libero in the 2025 class secured another All-League 1st team nod and is an acrobatic, cat quick libero who makes highlight reel plays on a normal basis. Alefaio-Foifua is always covering her hitters, digging up swings that are blocked to give her team another chance. If she has to just stick out one hand or foot to make it work, she can and often does! The 2025 prospect is athletic and creative, she will go after any ball no matter where it’s headed if she can save the point.
The OH/L from Kentridge continues to have an outstanding high school career. As an attacker she has power and an excellent ability to find open spots on the court. Caoili is all out effort defensively, and she has strong hands that can handle blistering swings from any attacker. She will be an important addition for the program that provides her the opportunity to show her defensive skills at the next level.

Dela Cruz* delivers a large game in a small package, the 2025 from Timberline always leaves everything on the court. With her ability to stay low, make quick moves to the ball and provide excellent touches on serve receive, Dela Cruz helped Timberline’s young squad to a 7-7 season in the tough 3A South Sound conference. The Blazers have only four seniors departing, and Dela Cruz will help fill the leadership void in 2024. Expect a big club season out of the enthusiastic defender!

Here are several other excellent libero prospects who remain uncommitted and will be working to be recruited as club season starts up.
Heather Barbee Heather Barbee 5'6" | DS/L West Valley Yakima | 2025 State WA Barbee ended up playing as an outside and can go up against the best players in the state and succeed. The added benefit for West Valley Yakima was six rotations of defense from Barbee and Katie Strong, the team essentially played two liberos at all times.
Asia Williams Asia Williams 5'7" | DS/L Curtis | 2025 State WA Williams was a reliable and versatile contributer to a Curtis squad that was one of the best teams in the state this season. She carved out a role as a DS and serve receive ace, recording close to 150 digs and racking 29 aces for the year. Williams jumped in as an attacker for a limited time and had a season high 15 kills!
Emma Sandberg Emma Sandberg 5'8" | DS/L Gonzaga Prep | 2025 State WA . The Gonzaga Prep junior was named All-GSL Second Team and has the versatility to set, attack, and defend with equal quality. Her strength allows her to hang in against big shots down the line and she has a nice touch playing the ball overhand to her setters.
Gabrielle Reich Gabrielle Reich 5'7" | DS/L Mead | 2025 State WA Playing in a DS role for Mead, Reich solidified the back row serve receive for the Panthers. The team gelled as she continued to build her range and confidence, and the 2025 prospect helped the squad win a state championship.
We have to give a shout out to a committed 2025 libero who had a super season, Madison Joswick Madison Joswick 5’7″ | DS/L Central Valley | 2025 State WA of Central Valley High School in Spokane. Joswick is a verbal to Washington State, giving her pledge to the Cougars in mid August. Her rock solid serve receive and sound first ball contacts helped CV turn their season around, with the Bears finishing just out of the state tournament after a late season run propelled them into the district playoffs. Joswick continues to grow as a dynamic playmaker and will be playing club with the Renovators 18 Kari team this season after being named 1st Team All-Conference in the GSL.
