One word, flabbergasted!

When the idea for this report came to my head, I figured it might include maybe eight players, but as I researched the numbers, I became overwhelmed and (you guessed it) flabbergasted at the final number of athletes it includes.

A high school coach's dream athlete can play all six rotations and impact the game as an attacker and a defender.

I am a numbers guy, and I still geek out over THE impressive numbers.

For instance, 1,000 yards rushing in a season, a combined 30 stolen bases and 30 home runs in one season, the double-double, 300 career home runs, ERAs below 2.00, batting averages above .300, and any set of four round numbers in a volleyball career, i.e., 1,000 kills, 1,500 digs, 2,000 assists, and so on.

With Prep Dig's recent rankings update, I wanted to explore the hitters who can change games with a key dig, without having to be subbed out when they are on the back row. The numbers I landed on for this report were 200 digs and 200 kills in one season.

Here is what I found, and I was shocked by the number of names, but not THE names. Each athlete in this report finished with at least 200 digs and kills during their sophomore seasons. It's a list of who's who in the Kansas Class of 2028 and makes me feel like my rankings skills are not half bad.

This is not an all-inclusive list. Several high schools do not post public stats, and I selected athletes with completed Prep Dig Profiles. However, I did come across many more athletes with similar numbers who have incomplete profiles, or others who reach a total of 200 in one category, but just short in the other. So there will be more reports to come!

This report will be light on individual analysis, as I have written about some of these ladies until my fingers blistered. In fact, many have recently been featured on Prep Dig, and as evidenced by these numbers, deservingly so.

I will let the numbers and my crazy comps tell the story.

I apologize in advance if athlete fell through the cracks. As I wrote, similar reports are coming, so stay tuned.
