The Gauntlet has arrived. Prep Dig's premier pre-nationals event brings together top teams from around the country for stiff competition before the main event.

Iowa is well represented at the Gauntlet. The lineup includes Premier 16-1, the regional champ and USAV Nationals Open Division qualifier, and a long list of other qualifiers.

With a collection of squads this accomplished, there's bound to be some of the state's top individual talents on hand. Here are athletes whose courts you'll want to visit if you're in town:

[player_tooltip player_id='560368' first='Elle' last='Hatlevig'], OH, Premier 16-1 - The Norwalk all-stater is Prep Dig's Top 2028 in Iowa. She's a hammer at the pin with an improving back-row game. Hatlevig does a wonderful job taking what the defense gives her and limiting mistakes.

[player_tooltip player_id='545971' first='Avery' last='Cordes'], OH/MH/RS, Premier 16-1 - After helping Waukee Northwest win a state title in November, the versatile front-rower has continued on a trajectory as one of Iowa's highest-ceiling prospects. Cordes is capable of standing out any of the three positions at the net.

[player_tooltip player_id='545946' first='Addison' last='Waldorf'], S, Premier 16-1 - Like her club teammates Hatlevig and Cordes, Waldorf is packed with potential on top of already being a kid that can do it all at her position. As productive as she is already, the Humboldt standout gives scouts potential to dream on.

[player_tooltip player_id='316419' first='Edie' last='Miller'], L/DS, Rockets 17R - The Dayton commitment has a solid claim to the title of best libero in the state. The Liberty all-stater is fun to watch, especially when opponents make the mistake of challenging her.

[player_tooltip player_id='516002' first='Julia' last='Schlarbaum'], OH, United 16-1 Elite - A breakout prospect at this time a year ago, Schlarbaum has continued her climb to being one of Iowa's most consistently good six-rotation outside hitters. Her play in the back row has improved a lot this club campaign.

[player_tooltip player_id='490015' first='Mazie' last='Sweers'], OH, Select 17 Mizuno - Simply put, Sweers is one of Iowa's best overall volleyball players. She can end points at the pin, set teammates for kills and pick it up in the back row. Missouri Western State got a steal in landing the Pleasant Valley star's pledge.

[player_tooltip player_id='490009' first='Leah' last='Caffery'], S, Select 17 Mizuno - Caffery and Sweers alone would make Select 17 Mizuno a fun team to watch, but there's a whole lot more on the roster beyond that dynamic duo. Caffery's part is to be a steady hand running the operation, a technician and impact player at her position.

[player_tooltip player_id='493658' first='Hattie' last='Galloway'], MH/RS, Rockets 17R - The recent Milwaukee commitment looks improved each time she shows up on the court. Galloway can end points in the middle, her natural position, and from the opposite pin. The City High all-stater's defense along the net is exemplary.

[player_tooltip player_id='730419' first='Hailey' last='Wiederin'], RS/MH/OH, Premier 16-1 - Another member of the state champs' loaded roster, Wiederin boasts as much potential as anyone in the class. She flashed that as a key part of Ankeny's run to the state semifinals last season and in Premier 16-1's success on big stages.

[player_tooltip player_id='742600' first='Piper' last='Hodge'], L-DS, Select 16 Mizuno - Hodge held down the back row during Assumption's march to the Class 3A state title in November. She's done the same for one of state's top 16s teams as a player with a lot of natural ability blended with a great feel for match flow and being technically sound.

[player_tooltip player_id='694203' first='Belle' last='Cotton'], OH, Select 16 Mizuno - Another one of Iowa's best overall volleyballer players, Cotton is a veteran at impacting matches on the club and high school levels, playing a starring role with Hodge in Assumption's championship and Select's clinching of a national's bid.

[player_tooltip player_id='730426' first='Hazel' last='Schluckebier'], S, Rockets 16R - The state is fortunate to have a strong collection of setters, and Schluckebier is right there among the best. The City High junior-to-be regularly expands her game while making sure to sharpen her skills at main her position at the same time. She's making strides swinging from the opposite pin, and in defending at the net and in the back row.

[player_tooltip player_id='701976' first='Adelyn' last='Stien'], S, United 16-1 Elite - A Center Point-Urbana junior-to-be, Stien ranks right there with the other top setters included in this write-up. She's a huge part of the United 16-1 Elite lineup that performed well all season, earning a bid to the USAV nationals. Stien sees the court really well and operates with a high volleyball IQ.

[player_tooltip player_id='763850' first='Gianna' last='Stanfel'], RS, PowerPlex 16 Nelson - The Dowling Catholic junior-to-be really raised her recruiting profile during the last year. She's earned the attention by working on her game and gaining consistency. Stanfel is explosive with a good plan and a heavy swing.

[player_tooltip player_id='732859' first='Elle' last='Isaacson'], OH, PowerPlex 16 Nelson - Ankeny contributes a lot to the state's player pool, and Issacson is another in a long line of impressive prospects. She's working six rotations for PowerPlex 16 Nelson, taking another step forward in her development after helping the Hawks reach the state semifinals.

[player_tooltip player_id='729146' first='Anna' last='Jackson'], L/DS, PowerPlex 16 Nelson - If we're discussing the most consistently reliable back-row players in Iowa, Jackson should be in the discussion. Like she did in helping Dallas Center-Grimes advance to the state semifinals in November, she limits mistakes and keeps PowerPlex rolling in system.

[player_tooltip player_id='730449' first='Kylee' last='Suhr'], MH, Rockets 16R - The Williamsburg standout is one of the state's biggest risers this club season. Suhr is an agile and athletic middle hitter that flows well with the action. It puts her in proper places to make plays and emerging skills are leading to excellent results.

[player_tooltip player_id='728886' first='Lilly' last='Huntrods'], L/DS, Impact 16-1 Elite - Huntrods impressed me with her ability to play six rotations for short-handed Impact 16-1 Elite during the Nike President's Day Classic in St. Louis. I saw her settle back into being a libero capable of covering a lot of ground during subsequent tournaments since then.
