The class of 2027 recruiting race is heating up, but there is still a lot of talent on the board in Arkansas. Some have been proven varsity contributors for years, while others have seen their stock rise during the club season. I asked these recruits 3 questions, 1) what separates you from other players, 2) what type of college program are you looking for, and what are the most import factors in the recruiting process, and 3) If a college coach hasn't seen you play yet, what is one thing that stands out about you as a player and a teammate?

All of them have talent to help a college program, so you're a coach still looking for 2027 talent, look no further. Prep Dig Arkansan has you covered. Dig inside for their answers.

[player_tooltip player_id='569562' first='Ava' last='Jeffus'] has established herself as one of the top defensive players in Arkansas' 2027 class, but she believes her greatest strengths extend well beyond passing and defense.

"What separates me from other 2027 players at my position is my work ethic," Jeffus said. "I try to stay late at practice, I get extra reps, and I give my best when playing and in the weight room."

Jeffus also takes pride in putting her team first. "I am always committed to my team by focusing on the community and playing for them, not just for myself."

Although she is best known as a libero, Jeffus points to her versatility as another strength. “I've played libero, defensive specialist, and front row. I have all-around skills for the court." As she works through the recruiting process, Jeffus isn't chasing a particular level of college volleyball. Instead, she's focused on finding the right fit. "What I'm looking for in a college is a supportive community and culture," she said. "I also want a coach that can take my skill to the next level while I play there. I value academics and athletics because I want to be a student as well as an athlete, not just a player." Ava boast a 33 on her ACT.

For Jeffus, genuine relationships matter more than a division label. "The most important factor in my recruiting process is for a coach to have a genuine interest in bringing me into the program. It's about how I fit into the program and the school rather than specifically Division I, II, III, or NAIA."

If a coach watches Jeffus compete, she wants them to see a player who is fully invested in every aspect of the program. "I'm going to give 110% work on the court, on the bench cheering, off the court with my team, and in the classroom. I will always work my hardest to do and become the best I can be."

Scout's Take: Jeffus is much more than an elite back-row defender. She combines high-level defensive instincts versatility, a relentless work ethic, and a team-first mentality. Her willingness to do the extra work, invest in teammates, and embrace every role makes her one of the most complete uncommitted liberos in Arkansas' 2027 class. Coaches looking for a player who can elevate both the level of play and the culture of a program should have Jeffus high on their recruiting board. Smarts, skill and leadership are what Ava brings to the table.

[player_tooltip player_id='828369' first='Trinity' last='Strickland'] is the type of player who is never satisfied with standing still. The 5-foot-10 middle blocker believes her drive to improve separates her from others in the 2027 class. Whether it's staying after practice, asking questions, or working on weaknesses, Strickland is constantly looking for ways to elevate her game. "I think what separates me is how much I care about getting better," Strickland said. "I'm not the type of player who is ever completely satisfied with where I am."

Her impact goes beyond skill development. Strickland prides herself on bringing energy to every practice and match while celebrating the success of those around her. "I love celebrating my teammates' successes just as much as my own, and I think that a positive attitude helps me make an impact beyond the stats."

As she continues through the recruiting process, Strickland is looking for a program that values both the athlete and the person. "I'm looking for a program where I feel genuinely valued as both a player and a person," she said. "I want coaches who will challenge me and help me grow on and off the court." Academics also play a major role in her decision. With aspirations to attend law school, she wants a college that will prepare her for success long after her playing career ends. "I'm looking for a place where I can compete at a high level and prepare myself for life after volleyball."

What does she hope a coach sees? Strickland hopes they recognize the effort and leadership she brings every day. "I would want them to know that what they'll get from me is someone who is skilled and competes with everything she has," she said. "I'm not afraid of hard work, and I genuinely love being part of a team."

She also wants to be remembered for the impact she has on the people around her. "As a teammate, I'm supportive, loud, encouraging, and willing to do whatever is needed to help us succeed. I want to be remembered as someone who made the people around her better."

Scout's Take: Strickland is a middle blocker with a growth mindset and a team-first approach. At 5-foot-10, she brings energy, competitiveness, and a commitment to continual improvement every time she steps on the court. Her willingness to embrace coaching, invest in teammates, and lead through encouragement makes her the type of player who can positively affect both a lineup and a program's culture.

[player_tooltip player_id='762345' first='Jaycee' last='Bossert'] is an outside hitter who plays with an attacking mentality every time she steps on the court. She believes what separates her from other players in the 2027 class is her aggressiveness and her ability to score in a variety of ways. "My aggressiveness and my ability to find the gaps in my swings," Bossert said.

Rather than relying solely on power, Bossert uses shot selection and court awareness to keep blockers and defenders off balance. Her ability to attack from both pins makes her a versatile offensive weapon who can create matchup problems across the front row.

As she continues through the recruiting process, Bossert is looking for a program that invests in its student-athletes both on and off the court. "I'm looking for a program that supports the athletes academically and athletically and has supportive coaches and teammates," she said. "I'm also looking for a good nursing program."

If a college coach watches her play, Bossert hopes they see more than just an offensive threat. "I am dominant on both pins, I'm aggressive and smart with my shots, and I love to support my teammates while playing the game that I love."

Her recruiting process is progressing well, and she expects to make her college decision soon. "My recruiting is going great. My goal is to make a decision by the end of July or early August."

Scout's Take: Bossert is a versatile pin attacker who can score from either the left or right side and has experience at middle. She combines an aggressive offensive approach with smart shot selection and a team-first mentality. Her ability to attack from both pins adds value to any lineup, and with a college decision approaching, she's on the clock!

If you're looking for a middle blocker who values consistency over flash, [player_tooltip player_id='810708' first='Allie' last='Redditt'] deserves a closer look. It took a little time for Allie to come out of her shell, but she did so in strong fashion!!

Redditt believes what separates her from other middles in the 2027 class is her ability to stay composed when the match gets tight. She prides herself on being a consistent performer, reading hitters well, and moving laterally to close blocks. "I'm a strong blocker that can read and move laterally quickly," Redditt said.

As she continues through the recruiting process, she's looking for more than just a volleyball program. Redditt wants a school with a strong player development culture, great team chemistry, and an academic path toward becoming a speech-language pathologist. Staying close enough for her family to watch her compete is another important factor in finding the right fit.

On the court, Redditt hopes coaches notice more than her physical play. "By mixing up my shots and hard swings, I hope a coach will see that I have good court awareness and a high game IQ," she said. She describes herself as a quiet leader who leads by example. Coachable, competitive, and always encouraging her teammates, Redditt wants coaches to know they are getting more than a middle blocker. "I hope they see my character and that I would be a dependable asset on and off the court."

Scout's Take: Redditt is a fundamentally sound middle with a high volleyball IQ. She blocks well, makes smart attacking decisions, and brings the type of consistency coaches value. Her team-first mentality, coachability, and steady leadership make her an intriguing, uncommitted prospect in Arkansas' 2027 class. She's had some strong camp showing and will be one to keep an eye on as she enters her senior year.

Don't let the measurements fool you. [player_tooltip player_id='569563' first='Ellis' last='Pierce'] has built her game around skill, volleyball IQ, and finding ways to score against bigger blockers. As a 5-foot-8 pin hitter, Pierce understands that success comes from more than simply swinging hard. She believes her court vision and ability to read the defense are what separate her from other players in the 2027 class. "I believe that my court vision and finesse separate me from other players at my position," Pierce said. "As an undersized hitter, it is important for me to recognize what I can do against a bigger block."

Pierce has become especially effective at tooling the block and using a variety of shots to keep defenses guessing. "When I get extra reps, I like to work on my shots, whether it's down the line or cutting it to take the outside blocker out of the play. I am able to see when a team is out of system and when I can score with a strong swing or a short tip." Serving is another area where Pierce has developed into a weapon. "I also LOVE to serve," she said. "I have played competitive volleyball since I was seven. To learn how to serve, I used to practice by serving over the football goal post 100 times every day."

That early discipline continues to pay dividends."It made my arm strong and accurate. I've had to serve in some very tight matches over the years, and that discipline early on made those situations less scary." As she looks toward the next level, Pierce wants a program that will continue to push her both physically and mentally. "I am looking for a college volleyball program that will challenge me to better myself and my game," she said. "I love to learn new things and have deep respect for my teammates and coaches, so I'm looking for a program that has a healthy balance between the physical and mental aspects of the game." Pierce also wants coaches to know the value she brings as a teammate. "While I have good court communication, I am aware that I'm not the loudest on the court," she said. "I have learned the effectiveness of being a silent leader. To me, that means uplifting your teammates personally and making a difference through my actions. Showing your hustle and putting out maximum effort can inspire your teammates to do the same."

Scout's Take: Pierce is a high-IQ pin hitter who has learned how to maximize every aspect of her game. She scores with shot selection, court awareness, and the ability to tool the block rather than relying solely on power. Add in an aggressive serve, strong work ethic, and quiet leadership, and she becomes the type of player who consistently finds ways to help her team win. Coaches looking for a skilled, competitive six-rotation player could find a diamond in the rough with Ellis.

Bryna Brown is one of the more versatile front-row players in Arkansas' 2027 class. Able to play both middle blocker and pin, Brown believes her flexibility and willingness to compete wherever she's needed separates her from others in her class. "I believe my versatility separates me from other players in the 2027 class," Brown said. "As a 5'10" MB/Pin, I can contribute in multiple positions and impact the game in different ways." Brenya has come back strong after a shoulder injury ended last years club season.

Brown also credits her coachability, competitiveness, and work ethic as key parts of her game. "I take pride in being coachable, competitive, and always looking for ways to improve my game. I bring energy and a strong work ethic every day, whether it's practice, training, or competition."

As she continues through the recruiting process, Brown is focused on finding a program where she can develop both on and off the court. "I am looking for a college program with a strong team culture where players are pushed to be their best on and off the court," she said. "The most important factors in my recruiting process are the relationship with the coaching staff, opportunities for development, academics, and finding a place where I can contribute and grow as both a student and athlete."

Brown wants college coaches to see a player who values winning over individual recognition. "I would want them to know that I am a team-first player who is willing to do whatever is needed to help my team succeed," she said. "I bring energy, competitiveness, and versatility to the court, and I am always encouraging my teammates. I take coaching well, work hard, and strive to be someone my teammates and coaches can rely on every day."

Her recruiting process continues to gain momentum. "My recruiting process has been steadily progressing. I've been actively reaching out to college coaches, attending camps and showcases, and competing at a high level with my club and high school teams. I've been fortunate to receive interest from several programs and an offer from a college program, but I remain uncommitted and am continuing to build relationships with coaches while looking for the best fit academically, athletically, and personally."

Scout's Take: Brown is the type of player every coach value because of her versatility. She has the ability to contribute as both a middle blocker and a pin while bringing a competitive, team-first mentality to every match. Her willingness to embrace coaching, combined with her athleticism and positional flexibility, gives her the potential to affect a collegiate program in multiple ways. With interest already building, Brown is a 2027 prospect who should be committing before the high school season in my opinion. She's gaining traction every week!

Versatility is one of [player_tooltip player_id='751294' first='Amiracle' last='Miller']'s biggest strengths. While she is primarily a middle blocker, Miller has experience playing nearly every position on the court. That versatility, combined with her volleyball IQ, has made her a valuable asset throughout her career. "I believe what separates me from other players in the 2027 class at my position is my game IQ," Miller said. "Knowing where the opponents' weaknesses and holes are a big part of helping you take control of the match."

As she continues through the recruiting process, Miller is looking for more than just a place to play volleyball. "The college program I'm looking for is one with a good team culture and a very hands-on coaching staff," she said. "One of the most important factors in my recruiting process is making sure I can actually see myself in the program making a difference for the better of the team."

If a college coach shows up to watch her play, Miller hopes they see a competitor who is willing to do whatever it takes to help her team win. "One thing a coach should know about my game is I'm a very competitive person and a versatile player," she said. "I've played middle, right side, outside, defensive specialist, and libero. I will play any position that will benefit the team with no complaints." Miller says her recruiting process is progressing well as she prepares for one of the biggest events of the summer. "My recruiting right now is going pretty good. I'm in contact with a couple of coaches, and hopefully some can come watch me play at Nationals in Indiana."

Scout's Take: Miller brings a rare combination of versatility and volleyball IQ. Her willingness to play multiple positions speaks to both her athletic ability and her team-first mindset. She reads the game well, competes with confidence, and understands how to exploit an opponent's weaknesses. Coaches looking for a high-character athlete who values winning over individual accolades should have Miller on their recruiting radar heading into Nationals.

[player_tooltip player_id='752239' first='Faith' last='Fulfer'] brings a high volleyball IQ and versatility to the court, two qualities that have helped separate her from others in Arkansas' 2027 class. While many hitters rely primarily on power, Fulfer believes her ability to read the game and make smart attacking decisions gives her an advantage. "I believe what separates me from other players at my position is my IQ," Fulfer said. "I am very intentional not only about the power in my swing, but where I place it." Her versatility is another strength. Having experience playing multiple positions has helped her develop a more complete understanding of the game and allows her to contribute in a variety of situations.

As she navigates the recruiting process, Fulfer is looking for more than just a place to play volleyball. "I am looking for a program that cares about the players and the culture," she said.

If a college coach hasn't had the opportunity to see her compete, Fulfer wants them to know exactly what kind of teammate they're getting. "I am very competitive and dedicated to getting better as a player and a person," she said. "The team will always be what's most important to me."

Scout's Take: Fulfer is a smart, versatile attacker who understands how to score beyond simply swinging hard. Her ability to vary her shots, combined with experience at multiple positions, makes her a valuable option in any lineup.
[player_tooltip player_id='806194' first='Kinley' last='Hammett'] brings the type of competitive mindset coaches want in an outside hitter. Whether her team is leading or trailing, Hammett prides herself on staying composed, playing with confidence, and competing for every point. "I think what separates me from other players is my mindset and the energy I bring every day," Hammett said. "I'm always looking for ways to become a better teammate and an overall better player."

Finding the right college fit goes beyond volleyball for Hammett. She is looking for a program that feels like family, values player development, and emphasizes a strong team culture. Academics are equally important as she prepares for life after volleyball. "I want to be surrounded by coaches and teammates who push me to be my best on and off the court," she said. "Overall, I'm looking for a program that values discipline, strong team culture, player development, and a positive environment."

IHammett hopes coahces recognize the qualities that don't always show up in the stat sheet."I would want them to know that they're getting a player who will compete for every point and do what is needed for the team to succeed," she said. She believes great teams are built on connection, communication, and accountability, and those are the traits she strives to bring every day.

Scout's Take: Hammett is a true six-rotation outside hitter whose athleticism is matched by her competitiveness. She plays with confidence, embraces leadership through her actions, and has the ability to impact matches in both the front and back row. Her combination of offensive production, positive energy, and team-first mentality makes her one of the more intriguing uncommitted outside hitters in Arkansas' 2027 class.
[player_tooltip player_id='999115' first='Ava' last='Edwards']' has a story to tell, it is one of perseverance . After suffering a major knee injury in 2024, she didn't know if she would return to the court. Instead of letting the injury define her, Edwards attacked her rehabilitation with the same determination she brings to every practice. "Within six months I was on the court almost every day, getting as many reps as possible," Edwards said. "Almost two years later, I have been able to play to my full potential and come into every practice giving 110 percent every time, even when I'm tired."

"I want to build positive relationships with my teammates and coaches while having as much fun as possible playing the sport I love."

"One thing I would like them to know about my game is my high IQ," she said. "I have a great eye for the court and can find the holes and open spots."

She also takes pride in the energy she brings to every match. "As a teammate, I am very vocal and encouraging. Whether my teammates like it or not, I will always have high energy, encourage to the fullest, and help push and support my teammates to the best of their abilities.
Scout's Take: Edwards brings the qualities every program wants in a defensive specialist—resilience, work ethic, coachability, and leadership. Her comeback from a significant knee injury shows her determination, while her court awareness and vocal presence make her more than just a libero. She reads the game well, keeps teammates engaged, and competes with contagious energy. Coaches looking for a dependable back-row player who will raise the culture of a program should keep Edwards in mind.
