Frosh Making a Huge Impact for their High School Teams

Unfortunately, the names are limited to players whose coaches contribute statistical information into Max Preps. There are probably many more out there. Below are some of my favorites. Back in August Prep Dig predicted six frosh who would make an impact on their high school season. Macie has picked up her game this year but her opposite on the left side appears to be matching her kill for kill. Nadia ranks eighth in Virginia in kills, first for Bishop O'Connell. Macie is 13th in Virginia in kills, second for the Knights. Easily the top two left side combination in the DMV area, both with hitting percentages over .450. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The duo is leading Bishop O'Connell to an 18-0 record. During that streak they have yet to lose a set. Nadia is a six rotation player and the top ranked player in the class of 2030. Our prediction was that she brought the tools to make the varsity at Jackson Reed. Not only did she make the varsity but she leads the Tigers in kills with an impressive .375 hitting percentage.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Sofia lists as both a middle and an outside. At the showcase she showed the ability to pass and play defense which would make her suitable for an outside role. Currently she lists at 5'11".</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Sofia ranks at number 13 in our class of 2030. Prep Dig included her name as a frosh on the verge of making an explosive impact. She is one of four players on the Metro 14 team to make the list. She leads her team in kills with an impressive .443 hitting percentage. Shortly after that she earned a Prep Dig top performer award. Last year they reached the Class 6 state bracket but lost in the semi-finals to the eventual champions West Springfield. They are led by left side <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='734796' first='Benisa' last='Moore']</strong> and libero <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='471714' first='Ryann' last='Bothof']</strong>.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>However, two frosh are offering significant contributions. Defensive specialist <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1008294' first='Brooklyn' last='Cassidy']</strong> teams up with <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='471714' first='Ryann' last='Bothof']</strong> to create a stellar back row. Scarlett also has been contributing to the middle with a .324 hitting percentage while also defending with her blocks. Angelie ranks number 10 in our class of 2029 while Jaylin ranks at number 32 in our class of 2028, committing to Emory.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">Last club season Preslirose played up with [program_tooltip program_id='450416' first='East' last='Coast Volleyball Club'] Black 15. [player_tooltip player_id='998474' first='Finley' last='Keever'] earned the libero role for East Coast and found a spot in our class of 2029 rankings after earning a top performer award at the Prep Dig showcase in Indianapolis.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">However, Preslirose has made the varsity team for Hickory, starting at the libero position. She leads the team in digs while also lining up for serve receive. She is setting a road map to be the top libero in the class of 2030. She played six rotations with Kellam, growing from 5'6" to 5'8". For Kellam she appeared as a defensive specialist/right side.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">Sophia has generated a bright start for her Kellam team, second on the team in kills while also third on the team in digs. She seems comfortable establishing her role as a six rotation player who carries multiple skills to the court.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">Currently ranked at 53 in the class of 2030. Skyler has committed to Florida A&amp;M while Erin has committed to Christopher Newport. For Chantilly to have success they need to find a setter to get the ball to them. Last week against Oakton Sofia came just two kills shy of earning a triple double. She also sits second on the team in blocks. Her .265 hitting percentage also slides into the fourth spot. She also appears on the leader boards as one of their top servers with her 12 service aces. She also shows her excellence playing six rotations, leading the team in digs as well as ranking second in service aces. Sai teams with [player_tooltip player_id='753097' first='Nadia' last='Wooten'] to make a formidable left side combination for Metro 14. [player_tooltip player_id='941779' first='Jordin' last='Guthrie'], who normally hits right side for Metro swings from both pins for the Stallions. [player_tooltip player_id='768588' first='Eliana' last='Butler'], who set for Metro 14 also fits in that capacity for South County running a 6/2. It appears she stays in the front row to hit right side where her .370 hitting percentage leads the team.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">At 6'0" Guthrie is a few inches shy of reaching 10 feet with her approach jump. Except she was playing a year up. I had to wait until she played for the just as impressive BAVA 15 before ranking her in the class of 2030. Jemma also attended our Prep Dig frosh showcase becoming our first libero to win the most valuable player award at this event.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">She continues her stellar libero play while playing for Crofton.
