Emary Cooper Emary Cooper 6'0" | OH/RS Lewis Central | 2028 State IA has been an absolute monster this season and has done a fantastic job lighting a fire under the Titans all season. She pairs her dominating swings with an energy like no other. I am excited to see how she contributes tonight, hopefully at the state tournament, and next year.

Emary Cooper Emary Cooper 6'0" | OH/RS Lewis Central | 2028 State IA is an explosive pin hitter with an incredible hang time. Her patience and incredibly fast arm swing make her a lethal option no matter where she is on the court. Similar to last year, Cooper has become a reliable scoring source for the Titans. With all the talk about high school season going on and a lot of the focus being on the top-ranked schools, it’s easy to lose focus on some of the other talent outside of the top 15 schools. Cooper impressed me with her play at the Iowa City High tournament during the last two seasons. She did the same at this year’s event, providing Lewis Central with a terminator on the outside. During her first two prep campaigns, she was hammering away at the opposite pin. The ability end points at either spin gives Cooper the desired versatility that colleges seek. She’s grown physically, bringing height, long arms and growing power in her swing. It’s heavy now with a chance to add velocity in the future. Cooper is a good defender at the net. There’s a lot of athleticism here, which helps in moving fluidly around the court and rising up with an impressive vertical leap.

Cooper’s play caught my attention at the Iowa City High tournament in 2024, the beginning of her freshman season. That’s usually a good sign of things to come. That was the case when I saw her again at City High for the 2025 event in early September. After playing more right side as a ninth-grader, Cooper flashed high upside hitting from the outside in this one, while also improving on the right side. She defends well in both spots. Cooper is increasing the power in her attack as she adds strength and consistency to her swing. She has a good feel for the game and sees the court well. That helps Cooper get the most out of her talents. She should be soundly on the recruiting radar at this point.
