It's hard to believe we're four weeks into the ride, but here were are. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While teams will decide it on the court, predicting who they will be is a fun exercise, for me, and, hopefully, you. We love rankings!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I'll be lining teams in the state's largest class, 5A, each Monday (or Tuesday) throughout the season. Here's how I see it four weeks into the campaign:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>1.</strong>&nbsp;<strong>Waukee Northwest</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Wolves maintain a stranglehold on the No. 1 ranking this week despite having a few losses on their resume. They once again proved their superiority last Tuesday with a 3-0 CIML win at Ankeny and an unbeaten run to the Cedar Falls tournament title during the weekend. Ankeny</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Hawks remain at No. 2 despite dropping a 3-0 decision to visiting Northwest in CIML action last week. The match was competitive, including a 31-29 third set. The Maroons secured a CIML victory against Waukee in their only action last week. Dallas Center-Grimes</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Dallas Center-Grimes (18-0) checks in fourth again this week. The Mustangs overwhelmed Oskaloosa in a Little Hawkeye Conference match to improve to 5-0 in the league. They're 25-0 overall heading into this week's action. Iowa City West</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The fifth spot in the rankings remains the most difficult one to pin down. A case can be made for several teams in this tier. Iowa City West holds onto it for a third week in a row after recording an MVC sweep against visiting Western Dubuque last Tuesday. The Trojans also own wins against Liberty, Assumption, Dowling, Cedar Falls and Bettendorf.  [player_tooltip player_id='754657' first='Cyan' last='Blommer'] owns the team lead in kills at 152 (.245) with [player_tooltip player_id='360642' first='Sophia' last='Austen'] close behind at 150 (.320) in 43 sets.
