Washington Seniors in the Spotlight!

The class of 2025 has played its final high school matches, and while some players will continue on a final "celebration tour" during club, others will pull on their next jersey for a college program. It's a growing trend for athletes to skip a final club season and, in many cases, start college early and get in an extra spring training semester. In Washington, we have several trends concerning the 2025 class—we cover those in this edition of the updated rankings.

BEACH PLAYERS, RISE UP!

Four committed D1 sand seniors, in particular, jumped in the rankings after terrific performances during the high school season. [player_tooltip player_id='233837' first='Ella' last='Neubauer'], a 6'0" attacker from Eastlake High School, will play for the University of Arizona and is ranked 16th overall. A pair of players from Curtis will move on to great beach programs after leading the Vikings to the 4A State Title. [player_tooltip player_id='250414' first='Avery' last='Kucjati'] will suit up for Santa Clara, and [player_tooltip player_id='249382' first='Arianna' last='Medchill'] will play at South Florida. Wenatchee senior [player_tooltip player_id='250402' first='Keira' last='Demirjian'] will play for Boise State in the sand next season; she was tremendous in helping lead the Panthers to a third-place finish in 4A after their championship last year.

Whos Next!?

There are still players that will make college programs better available up and down the updated rankings. In just the Top 30, [player_tooltip player_id='266202' first='Manaia'shai' last='Alefaio-Foifua'], [player_tooltip player_id='253253' first='Alani' last='Taliloa'], [player_tooltip player_id='266132' first='Grace' last='Williams'], [player_tooltip player_id='250396' first='Lexie' last='Mason'], [player_tooltip player_id='266138' first='Georgia' last='Terrell'] and [player_tooltip player_id='220494' first='Reese' last='Sheppard'] have not made a college commitment as far as we know. Each player is experienced and skilled and has played club at a high level.

IN-STATE POWER PLAYERS

Seattle Pacific, Western Washington, and Central Washington are all part of the competitive Division II GNAC. Each school has local talent from the rankings who will step into its programs next season. Here are the 2025 players currently slated to play for each program.

Seattle Pacific: The Falcons will have five Washington players in the 2025 class. [player_tooltip player_id='400629' first='Madelyn' last='Benjamin'], [player_tooltip player_id='249381' first='Peyton' last='Ensign'], Maiya Lester, Grace Holstrum and [player_tooltip player_id='435342' first='Megan' last='Omlid'] will all be part of a class that also includes Oregon middle Audra Rose.

Western Washington: The Vikings will have players from across the state in the 2025 class. [player_tooltip player_id='268056' first='Brooke' last='Berglund'] from Freeman, [player_tooltip player_id='226013' first='Aly' last='Skagen'] out of Kentwood and [player_tooltip player_id='250403' first='Maren' last='Stuber'] from Wenatchee will be on campus next season.

Central Washington: [player_tooltip player_id='266136' first='Stella' last='Petersen'] and [player_tooltip player_id='250406' first='Kailey' last='Willsey'] join the Wildcats from nearby Manson and Davis High Schools. Both players helped lead their teams to state, with Peterson and the Trojans repeating as champions.

Let's not forget several other local schools bringing in Washinton prospects. Eastern Washington- [player_tooltip player_id='249188' first='Jailyn' last='Davenport']. Gonzaga- [player_tooltip player_id='266201' first='Hazel' last='Murphy']. Washington State- [player_tooltip player_id='266199' first='Madison' last='Joswick'] and [player_tooltip player_id='184440' first='Ziah' last='Sneva'], as well as Jackie Carle from Oregon. Washington- [player_tooltip player_id='249189' first='Ava' last='Jo Berry'].

THE TOP FIVE!

[player_tooltip player_id='207444' first='Lauren' last='Wiese'] remains in the top spot. The Baylor commit will compete for a terrific program in a Power Four conference, the Big 12. [player_tooltip player_id='249445' first='Kendall' last='Mairs'] made the switch from San Jose State to San Diego State. The versatile setter/attacker checks in at the #2 spot in the rankings. [player_tooltip player_id='249444' first='Sydney' last='Dreves'] won another state title with Columbia River and will join Boise State in the fall. [player_tooltip player_id='233895' first='Ava' last='Durgan'] powered Mead into the state 4A tournament after the Panthers moved up from the 3A classification. She will play at the University of San Diego. [player_tooltip player_id='250508' first='Alana' last='Marrs'] played all over the court for Ellensburg and will be in the middle next season at Oregon State.
