ST. LOUIS - Action at the Nike President's Day Class here at the Americas Center wrapped up on Monday. Iowa teams received good data on where they are and areas needing improvement in one of the season's most competitive events.   After ripping off six wins without a loss during the first two days, Iowa United 16-1 Elite suffered a crushing, three-set defeat at the hands of Elevation 16-Renfro to start the day. The final frame was decided by a 15-13 score. Elevation finished second the open division.   To United's credit, it bounced back for a two-set win over NIVA 16 Purple in its last match of the weekend. That result pushed it up fifth place finish.   [player_tooltip player_id='360642' first='Sophia' last='Austen']<a href="https://prepdig.com/player/sophia-austen/"></a> performed well on a big stage with college coaches squeezing into the crowd for scouting opportunities throughout the weekend. The competition for her services isn't slowing down anytime soon.   [player_tooltip player_id='493660' first='Bailey' last='Simpson']<a href="https://prepdig.com/player/bailey-simpson-3/"></a> continued establishing herself as one of the state's top middle hitters, giving college staffs reason to keep showing up to her matches. Setter [player_tooltip player_id='489998' first='Belle' last='Seaman'] put her best foot forward in running the operation.   [player_tooltip player_id='273001' first='Ellie' last='Wilson']'s progression as a six-rotation player allows for strategic advantages for this team. [player_tooltip player_id='403543' first='Addie' last='Bollier']<a href="https://prepdig.com/player/addie-bollier/"></a> and [player_tooltip player_id='488579' first='Mavrik' last='Schweer']<a href="https://prepdig.com/player/mavrik-schweer/"></a> are reliable back-row performers.   It ended up being a ninth-place finish for Iowa Select 17 Mizuno in the open division. It had nothing to hang its head about after dropping a three-setter to eventual runner-up, Sting United 17.   Select has looked like the best 17s team in Iowa this club season with the star power of [player_tooltip player_id='230661' first='Ellah' last='Derrer'] and a roster loaded with high-end talent in [player_tooltip player_id='389006' first='Carsyn' last='Kelley'], McKenzie Moeller, [player_tooltip player_id='455710' first='Kiley' last='Devery'], [player_tooltip player_id='389818' first='Hanley' last='Schmidt'] and others.   Mizuno has competition for that top spot in the 17s. Adrenaline 17-Marty showed well here, finishing 21st, as did [program_tooltip program_id='431948' first='Iowa' last='Rockets'] 17R, which ended up three spots ahead of that. Adrenaline 18 Jeff finished a respectful ninth in 18 premier behind the efforts [player_tooltip player_id='447490' first='Carlee' last='Webber'], [player_tooltip player_id='215388' first='Adalyn' last='Hermanson'], [player_tooltip player_id='555717' first='Kaycee' last='Cory'], twins [player_tooltip player_id='447579' first='Kelsey' last='Klesner'] and [player_tooltip player_id='730856' first='Kira' last='Klesner']<a href="https://prepdig.com/player/kira-klesner/"></a> and others. The 16 premier blue division was impacted by a pair of Iowa squads. Adrenaline 16-Dan worked its way to a second-place finish in the group, while Iowa United 16-1 Premier took ninth. United has gotten top performances from Kaitlin Loria, Suhr, [player_tooltip player_id='589347' first='Clarissa' last='Suhr'], [player_tooltip player_id='493983' first='Heather' last='Hingst'], Madison Hoffert, among others.   Rockets 15R posted a 6-2 record this weekend, good for 15th in the open division.
