Continue ReadingThe top five pin attackers by ranking in the class of 2025 update have all been producing and winning with their club teams this season. At the roughly halfway point of the club campaign, RS/S/OH Kendall Mairs Kendall Mairs 5'11" | OH Camas | 2025 State #84 Nation WA from Camas and OJVA 18 Gold checks in at #2 overall, closely followed by her OJVA 18 Gold teammate Sydney Dreves Sydney Dreves 5'11" | OH Columbia River | 2025 State #80 Nation WA at #3. The two OJVA standouts are terrific multi-sport athletes with excellent volleyball skills overall. Dreves is a defensive standout, scores with power and finesse, and is a true six-rotation OH with a tremendous volleyball IQ. On the opposite side of the court, Mairs has a whip of an arm and can drop dimes anywhere her attackers need it as a setter. Layne Dent Layne Dent 6'2" | OH Cascade Christian | 2025 State WA is the #6 overall player in the rankings; her 6’2″ length as an OH sets her apart from many players, and she is rapidly developing her serve-receive game. She pounds the ball down when she is in system, and as a blocker, her length is difficult for opposing hitters to deal with. The #8 overall player, Aspyn Reed Aspyn Reed 5'10" | OH Freeman | 2025 State WA , is a high flyer working the outside for RVC 18’s. She has been a go-to option, working a super fast system when the Renovators 18 offense clicks, hammering missiles before the block can get set up. Alani Taliloa Alani Taliloa 5'10" | OH Mt. Rainier | 2025 State WA is an exceptionally skilled overall player, which can sometimes be overlooked due to her tremendous power game. She always betters the ball, plays all six rotations with hustle and grit, and is rarely, if ever, out of position- a testament to her ability to read the game. Taliloa is the #11 overall player in the rankings, and yes, she has a rocket right arm!
Let’s look further into other outsides and right sides in the 2025 rankings update.

Continue ReadingJohnson continues to work hard for Sudden Impact VBC 17 and is the #23 overall ranked player in the class. At a solid 6’0″, she has the requisite length to score on the pin and has been extremely comfortable working down the line and hard off hands this club season. Johnson is handling tough serves as a passer, showing the ability to center line a ball or angle her platform to take care of the high floats with pace. Her own float serve is “flean” to use the term coined in the USA gym by Karch Kiraly. Flat over the net- clearing with little arc, and clean with nearly no spin. The Eastlake junior knows how to combine the two on her serve and frequently has opposing teams out of system.
Highlights
Willsey can play as a middle as well, and its possible that is her ultimate spot at the next level where she is a verbal commit to Central Washington. Regardless of a position she shows a power arm, strong hands as a blocker and a willingness to compete hard against top level talent. Willsey has great torso rotation in her attacks, she is able to utilize more than just her arm to generate power and terminate points. Her versatility to swing from anywhere across the front row and defend in the back row if needed is a plus as the Davis High School and CRU Max 17 player moves forward in her volleyball journey.
The 2025 prospect continues to deal on the pin for Seattle Juniors 17, Hadley has a strong shot selection that keeps defenders guessing. At 5’11”, the junior from Arlington has good leverage and will power down swings when she has a seam, and is more than willing to find the soft spots in a defense to rack up kills with a tip over the top or a push to the corner. Hadley has plenty of power, but mixes it up with different swings and smart shots that reveal her high volleyball IQ. She checks in at #53 overall in the 2025 rankings.
Chapman is a junior from Deer Park High School, and plays outside for CPA 17 Nicole. The 2025 prospect is a talented beach player as well, and her defense and ball control from the sand training show up indoors. Chapman is a shot maker, dropping balls into corners, then hammering off hands or to the sharp angle. She led Deer Park to the regional playoffs for the first time in six years this fall, and continues to make winning plays into the club season.

Continue ReadingProphater is the #4 right side in the 2025 Rankings and the #38 player overall. The lefty prospect from Mercer Island knows how to score from either pin, but her sweet swing is especially effective when she rips it from the right. She has a big vertical, and long arms that make her tough as a blocker and give her multiple options as an attacker. Prophater is nimble as a defender as well, she recognizes tips and rolls quickly and makes consistent plays as the off blocker.
Lester is playing with increased force and decisiveness, the junior from Liberty High School is laser focused on the court with NPJ this club season. The right-side suits her heavy handed swing, and she is ripping the ball through and around the block to score. Lester has been a stonewall as a blocker, cleaning up any mess at the net and straight roofing opponents regularly. The 2025 checks in at a solid 6’0″ with length and strong hands, and is playing with high confidence moving into the second half of the club season.
