Top Talent, College Coaches Lined Up for LOVB Iowa Showcase

Not that I mind traveling to witness exciting volleyball, but it's sure nice watching it in our neck of the woods. That will be the case this Friday night in Coralville, where LOVB will hold its 2025 College Recruiting Camp hosted by Iowa United. Some of the state's top talent in the 2026-2029 classes will run through drills and scrimmages for three hours.   The event's timing works well as student-athletes are preparing for national tournaments to close out the club seasons and getting summer workouts underway with their prep programs. It's a chance for college coaches to see this coming season's juniors in person before they can begin directly contacting that group on Sunday.   The 2027 recruiting cycle will be the most well represented at Friday's camp. At the time of publishing, almost half of the expected attendees are in that class. They and the others there will be scouted by a group of coaches from Creighton, Drake, Iowa, Iowa State, Northern Iowa, Ohio State, Nebraska Omaha, Texas-San Antonio and quite a few other institutions.   Prep Dig's No. 1 player in Iowa for '27, [player_tooltip player_id='360642' first='Sophia' last='Austen'], will have eyes from the big schools on her again Friday. It's been that way for awhile now and won't end until she picks a school.   Here's a closer look at the rest of the student-athletes signed up for this event:   Class of 2026   A strong collection of seniors will put their talents on display. Class of 2027   As mentioned, this cycle will fill up a lot of the courts on Friday. That could happen as early as this coming season for some of them.
