The Current Top 50 Prospects in Nebraska's 2027 Class

Our prospect rankings provide a snapshot of the work done by Prep Dig scouts year-round, ultimately creating a go-to source for prep volleyball in a drilled-down scope like no other publication.   Without further ado, here are the current top 50 prospects in Nebraska's 2027 class, including their most recent evaluation:    Wallraff's transition from the middle to the outside was as smooth as Elkhorn North could have hoped. The high-flying attacker remained near the top of Nebraska's overall kill leaderboards with over 550 during the regular season. Wallraff also showcased her repertoire across the back row this year--a rare feat for a converted middle blocker. We'll likely see this pin role take precedence when Wallraff represents next year's new-look [program_tooltip program_id='428717' first='Nebraska' last='ONE'] 16 Synergy squad.     Boesiger is heading toward a new era in her prep journey. She spent the past few years playing up two age groups with her vaunted [program_tooltip program_id='428717' first='Nebraska' last='ONE'] Synergy squad. That group racked up Open bids and notched a podium finish at 2023's GJNC. Next year's Synergy group will be entirely different with the Class of 2025 rising to the college ranks. Boesiger will be ready to run the show and keep Synergy at the forefront of the Great Plains Region.     We're eager to welcome one of Nebraska's most prolific scorers to the tournament stage. Meyers, who has already proven her massive prowess on the club stage, is in the middle of a record-shattering sophomore season with Superior High School. Her 7.6 kill-per-set average is unparalleled. She is closing in on 600 kills for the season and could reach even higher through tournament play. The Wildcats are third in the Class D1 race and have every reason to lean on Meyers the rest of the way.     2025 ought to be a big year for this top-tier outside hitter from the Class of 2027. Herian posted another massive season with Pierce and racked up about 600 total kills after reaching the Class C1 semifinals. She demonstrated her ability to go over the top of opposing blockers, making her in-system swings nearly indefensible. Herian's next big venture takes her to [program_tooltip program_id='428717' first='Nebraska' last='ONE'] 16 Synergy, a team stocked with elite talent to compete at the Open level.     Lauenstein and Waverly reached this year's Class B semifinals with a sophomore-stacked lineup. That bodes well for future seasons on the high school stage, but Lauenstein has already established herself as a dominant force. She led the Vikings in kills this fall while putting up one of Nebraska's loftiest ace totals. Lauenstein soared past 70 aces this season after registering five in Waverly's quarterfinal sweep over Bennington. This all-around game will serve Lauenstein well as she transitions to Premier Nebraska for club competition.     Middle blockers don't often lead their team's kill column, but Judson has been defying trends throughout her prep career. She entered last week's tournament with over three kills per set and remained on that clip as Papio South notched another state title. Judson was even an attacking threat out of the back row in her serving rotation. The electrifying sophomore is ready to lead the next chapter of Titan success in Class A.     Waters concluded her exceptional debut season with Millard West in the Class A semifinals. It's a worthy return trip for a program looking to bounce back from its 2023 anomaly. Waters guided the Wildcat resurgence with nearly 800 total assists and a team-leading 37 aces in the regular season. Her ability to stretch the ball from pin to pin was a huge factor in Millard West's quarterfinal win over defending champion Lincoln Southwest. Load up another fascinating club season.     Moser had no problem stepping into the spotlight with Waverly as a sophomore. In fact, this talented setter was surrounded by many fellow 2027s who will be competing for Class B titles before long. Moser hauled in an Open bid with VCNebraska 15 Elite during the spring and will remain an impact player with her club.     Bornschlegl is poised to be the new go-to outside hitter for VCNebraska 16 Elite. She showed this potential by dominating opposing defenses in the state tournament en route to Norris' historic state championship. Moreover, Bornschlegl will be a six-rotation asset for 16 Elite who can shoulder a ton of responsibilities in the passing formation. In short, she's the perfect fit for the VCN gym and should prosper during another season of high-level club volleyball.     Timmons was one of the earliest entrants on our 2027 watch list. It helps that she plays up an age group with [program_tooltip program_id='428717' first='Nebraska' last='ONE'] and still thrives against older peers. The Fairbury native put on a head-turning display during positional drills and kept the momentum going in live action. Timmons is another player who could be on the very top of Nebraska's kills leaderboard by November.     Lauenstein adds to Waverly's Class of 2027 revolution. She has competed at the highest levels of club volleyball and will take her talents to Premier Nebraska for the 2025 campaign. This big move comes after Lauenstein amassed 3.1 kills per set for the Vikings to lead Waverly back to the Class B semifinals. We expect a smooth transition for one of Nebraska's most electric outside hitters.     We have plenty of fond memories of Sanders bursting onto the scene this spring. She was a game-changer in the Premier Nebraska gym and helped her team clinch a bid to USAV Nationals. That was the prelude to another breakout tenure with Papillion-La Vista South on the high school side. Sanders finished third on the team's overall kill tally and added ten in Papio South's title sweep over Elkhorn South. The Titans keep developing well-rounded outside hitters who can do it all, and Sanders will add to that growing list of athletes.      Nebraska Elite 15 Revolution does not deploy many defensive specialists in its starting rotation. This puts additional pressure on Schroeder to take the lead in the backcourt, but this Bennington standout can handle the task. She tallied another spectacular outing on the national stage at AAUs, and we're not done with the journey yet. Look out for Schroeder and 15 Revolution at USAV Nationals.     Mauch was new to this year's Premier Nebraska 15 Gold roster, but she didn't take long to form unbreakable connections with her hitters. 15 Gold affirmed its status as a national contender at April's Windy City Qualifier, where Mauch churned out several highlight moments from the setter spot. She's a deceptive distributor who also brings impenetrable Zone 1 defense to her backcourt rotations. We'll see plenty more from Mauch as she takes the reins at Bennington following a successful freshman season.     This feature wouldn't be complete without Porter. She was an all-tournament performer who produced some of the most eye-popping kills in the 16 Club division. [program_tooltip program_id='428728' first='River' last='City Jrs'] 16 Navy loves to run Porter on the inside '2' ball and let her decide how to work around the block. She can also go over the top of the block if needed. Best of all, Porter is developing a defensive repertoire in the back row and is not afraid to shoulder passing responsibilities. 16 Navy has its future leader.     Lottman adds to a long list of exceptional defensive specialists at Norris High School. Her defensive instincts have been especially apparent during Lottman's tenure with VCNebraska, which has yielded plenty of triumphs at the Open level. She will remain in the spotlight while representing VCN's top 16s group this spring.     Graves is the kind of right-side hitter who can dominate at the net in multiple ways. She piled up triple-digit kills during Papio South's 2024 championship effort, but Graves is perhaps even more impressive as a shutdown blocker. The sophomore opposite was credited with 62 blocks during the regular season--a huge total for a wing blocker. Graves's multi-faceted onslaught will remain a focus of Premier Nebraska 16 Gold's pursuit for another Open bid this spring.     Kroll's numbers speak for themselves, but she's so much more than what can be displayed on a stat sheet. The sophomore setter amassed nearly 1,000 assists this year and was responsible for Lincoln North Star's balanced, varied offense. Kroll has been in several high-stakes matches on the club side with [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''], preparing her for the rigors of Class A prep competition. That experience has given Kroll the confidence and skill to produce the best volleyball of her career--and she's just getting started.     Eilenstine was an indispensable contributor to Elkhorn South's 2024 resurgence. She had an exceptional freshman season and backed that up with another triple-digit kill output this fall. The high-flying sophomore also proved her willingness to adapt to a variety of roles as the Storm experimented with different lineups. Even if she was coming in as a serving specialist or a backcourt sub, Eilenstine provided plenty of positive impact as the Storm rolled to the championship match. We're ready to see more in 2025.      2025 will be a pivotal calendar year for Thayer-Mencke. The Fort Calhoun opposite set a high bar last spring when she helped her Nebraska Elite team clinch an Open bid through the Northern Lights Qualifier. Her positive momentum carried into this weekend's showcase, where she scored over the top of opposing blockers. Thayer-Mencke is moving to a revamped [program_tooltip program_id='428717' first='Nebraska' last='ONE'] 16 Synergy roster for the 2025 campaign, so her strong lefty swing will loom large in the club spotlight. We're ready to see her thrive.     Premier Nebraska 15 Gold leaned on a versatile group of players during its successful 2024 season. Fettin is included in that conversation, as she has proven her effectiveness at outside hitter and libero. She donned the contrasting jersey at GJNC and never wavered through 15 Gold's gauntlet of long matches. Fettin is a focal point of the team's passing formation no matter which position she's playing, allowing 15 Gold to easily shake up its starting rotations. Look for this Papio athlete to make an early impact on the Class A prep stage.     We've hyped up Waverly's sophomore stars here before. The front row is loaded with stars, but don't forget about Quinn's underclassman influence in this year's backcourt. She led all Nebraska sophomores in digs per set and total digs--all against some of the state's most electrifying offenses. The next goal for Quinn is to collect more club hardware with [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''].     Drevo's dynamic scoring caught us all off guard toward the end of this year's club season. She anchored a pin-heavy VCNebraska 15 Black attack during the team's deep run at GJNC over the summer. The Lincoln Christian prep athlete has a strong approach that allows her to go over or around opposing blocks. Her development is just beginning.     Moone's explosiveness made her a must-watch athlete when she competed with Banzai VBC last spring. She was a star in the Great Plains Region Bid Tournament and earned a spot on our initial Top 25 in the 2027 rankings. That club season success was the precursor to Moone's successful sophomore campaign with Papio South in which she racked up nearly 200 kills. Her high contact point and quickness off the floor made her an ideal setting target in out-of-system situations, and we can't wait to see that athleticism flourish again in the spring.     Omaha Marian's strong 2024 season was anchored by the six-rotation excellence of its outside hitters. Capece was part of that operation and put up 2.4 kills per set in her sophomore season with the Crusaders. Aside from Capece's terminal ability in the frontcourt, she was also a consistent defender and even better as a primary passer. Marian's quick, precise offense relied on good first contacts, and this sophomore outside hitter always delivered. Capece is now climbing the ladder with Premier Nebraska and will hone her skills at the Open level.     No statistical category is off-limits for Schuerman. She was primarily an outside hitter during her freshman year with Wilber-Clatonia, and Schuerman quickly proved to be a good fit for the role. The Wolverines leaned on their first-year star for 2.2 kills per set last fall, but that was just the beginning. Schuerman is also an incredibly productive defender who churned out nearly 300 digs a year ago. This was a good precursor to Schuerman's stint at libero with [program_tooltip program_id='428717' first='Nebraska' last='ONE'] 15 Black, so multi-position adaptability is a huge plus here. We'll see which position prevails in Year 2 at Wilber-Clatonia.     If you want a sign of a true competitor, Bails' biggest breakthrough of 2024 may have come in the Class A championship match. The sophomore outside hitter worked hard to return from injury this fall, so we had to wait a while to see Bails on the floor. Once cleared, Bails made the most of her time in the lineup. She entered the Class A finale and registered seven clutch kills across the front row for Papio South. Her smart shot selection turned the tide in the first set, helping the Titans reclaim their No. 1 status in the state. Look for more of this clutch ability during the upcoming club season.     Ervin remains a do-everything athlete for Ogallala High School. We saw her thrive in the middle as a freshman, but she displayed her pin prowess during the 2024 season. Ervin hammered down nearly four kills per set this fall while running routes in the middle and on the left. That versatility made her a matchup nightmare for opposing teams and kept Ogallala in the wildcard hunt late in the season. We're eager to see Ervin's ascent continue as one of western Nebraska's most exciting 2027 prospects.     Snyder is perpetuating a family tradition of pin-hitting dominance at Omaha Concordia. The Mustangs had a new go-to weapon along the net this fall with Snyder racking up 3.6 kills per set. This was a sharp increase from Snyder's 2023 output, and the sophomore attacker even raised her hitting efficiency while seeing increased volume. The Club Legacy standout has been a star on our Prep Dig Circuit and will keep that momentum up in 2025.     Volkmer willed her Lincoln North Star squad to a tournament bid with an upset win over Grand Island in the district finals. That triumph has put this sophomore outside hitter in a great spot to climb in the Class of 2027 hierarchy. Volkmer led the Navigators with 330 kills heading into the tournament and was also a staple in the team's serve-receive pattern. Her wide-ranging impact will reappear when she competes with [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] next spring.     Lincoln North Star's surprise bid into the 2024 Class A Tournament put several sophomores on our stock-riser list. McKernan earned this distinction by putting down 2.6 kills per set this fall and establishing herself as a go-to terminator in front of the setter. Expect a few more highlight moments when McKernan represents [program_tooltip program_id='428717' first='Nebraska' last='ONE'] this spring.     Bowman made one of the most dramatic climbs of any player in the 2027 rankings. The Grand Island Northwest standout churned out nearly ten assists per set while guiding one of Nebraska's most efficient offenses this fall. The Vikings also let Bowman rack up some swings on the right pin--a true demonstration of her aggressive style. This 2027 was already an early watch list addition after her brilliant performances with [program_tooltip program_id='428717' first='Nebraska' last='ONE'], but Bowman's GINW reps have locked in her stock-riser status.     Langhorst can take over matches with her length and physicality. She had an exceptional debut season with Archbishop Bergan last fall and carried that momentum to the Premier Nebraska gym this year. Year 2 with the Knights has offered a dramatic uptick in Langhorst's offensive production. She is putting down 4.5 kills per set after averaging around two as a freshman. Langhorst is racking up these numbers at a 0.299 clip and is among the state's best frontcourt weapons. Bergan is determined to make its tournament return behind Langhorst's leadership.     Cochran's sophomore stats speak for themselves. She set a high bar in 2023 after putting up 3.8 kills per set, but this Gering standout still cleared that mark with 4.5 as a sophomore. Cochran also hit at a 0.262 clip despite taking over 1,200 swings throughout the 2024 season. The Bulldogs are due for a postseason breakthrough with several talented players leading the charge, but Cochran will likely enter our 2027 rankings before then.     Wiechman secured her spot on the 2027 watch list when she earned a 16 Club championship with [program_tooltip program_id='428728' first='River' last='City Jrs'] 16 Navy at AAU Nationals. That incredible triumph gave us a glimpse at Wiechman's incredible range as a middle blocker or a right-side hitter. She made further strides as a sophomore starter with Papillion-La Vista, so Wiechman's rankings rise was inevitable.     Petersen's progression with Elkhorn High School has been fascinating to follow. She earned some starting experience as a freshman last fall but has seen her production skyrocket in Year 2. This dynamic middle blocker has racked up over two kills per set on a 0.342 clip in 2024. It's one of the most dramatic year-over-year improvements we can find on Nebraska's stat sheets, so the future is looking up for this Nebraska Elite standout.     Huff's physicality at opposite is a perfect complement to Elkhorn North's strong frontcourt lineup. The sophomore put up triple-digit kills in 2024 and was the focal point for some intimidating blocks on the right side. We watched these traits flourish when Huff competed with Premier Nebraska through the spring. Huff has made further strides with one of Nebraska's top high school programs, so 2025 is an exciting time.     Homolka is another small-town gem worth keeping on your radar in the Class of 2027. She dazzled us at one of our Prep Dig Circuit events this summer, which was the precursor to some enormous gains with Central City later in the year. She terminated over 4.5 times per set this fall to jump her average by over two kills per set from 2023. The Bison were also not afraid to wield Homolka's strength in the back row, and she compiled nearly four digs per set, too. This high-volume outside hitter is on pace to reach 1,000 career kills before her senior season begins.     Kvols earned a spot on our inaugural 2027 watch list when she became Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's starting setter as a freshman. She maintained her big role in Year 2 and brought even better production and distribution. Kvols finished just shy of ten assists per set and knew when to find the hot hand in the frontcourt. This multi-sport athlete is building off a 28-5 campaign with the Bears and could see the tournament spotlight in 2025.     Thiele is back to business at Bishop Neumann. Her exceptional freshman stats are bound to be repeated--or exceeded--in 2024. The sophomore outside hitter has accumulated 3.4 kills per set this season as the Cavaliers have navigated a challenging early schedule. Thiele has embraced this tough slate while also bringing six-rotations skills to the mix. It's a perfect storm for a special sophomore surge.     Grossart captured our attention when she competed with South Central NE on the club side. She earned a trip to Junior Nationals over the summer, and now she has some postseason accolades on the high stage, too. Grossart notched double-digit kills in both Central Valley matches in Lincoln, adding to her 250-kill total through the regular season. This go-to pin attacker will continue her upward climb in next year's club season.     Speaking of the tournament, we have to give a nod to Central Valley's sophomore signal-caller. Wood piloted the Cougars to a straight-set quarterfinal win over Amherst and nearly pulled off a stunner against undefeated Leyton. Her precise location provided ample scoring opportunities for Central Valley's attackers, and Wood wasn't afraid to put down a few kills in the front row. The Cougars will have everyone's attention on the small-town scene as Wood and her team look for a repeat trip to Lincoln.     Premier Nebraska 15 Black gets another one. Jacobson was 15 Black's defensive leader throughout 2024 and put together so many brilliant weekends in the libero jersey. It started with her team's NLQ triumph, which quickly secured 15 Black's trip to Las Vegas. Jacobson thrived against top competition and wasn't afraid to dig serious heat into the crosscourt. This fearless attitude will help her embark on a rigorous Class A schedule with Millard South.     Backcourt defense was always a strength for [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] 15 Black. Twarling had a big influence in this area and could adapt to any spot in the starting rotation. Her libero reps were particularly impressive, and Twarling passed a large chunk of the court and picked up tips with ease. Her trip to Nationals was a success, and we're eager to see what her prep career will bring at Norris.     We won't soon forget Snider's high-impact 15s club season with Nebraska Elite. Through a combination of expert distribution and wicked serving, Snider guided her club squad to an Open bid through the Northern Lights Qualifier. She then represented Omaha Westside in the fall season and brought more of the game-changing serves that made her a force with Nebraska Elite. Snider is likely next in line for Westside's starting setter role and could soon become a household name in Class A.     Deats was a can't-miss middle blocker during Nebraska Elite's march to an Open bid to kick off 2024. This dynamic attacker is a scoring threat in front of the setter or behind, making her an ideal ‘M1' in two-hitter rotations. Look for Deats to continue a strong middle tradition at Omaha Westside next fall.     Let's hone in on another versatile athlete from the vaunted Nebraska Elite 15 Revolution lineup. Shaw excelled at middle blocker and right-side hitter for this group, giving 15 Revolution plenty of frontcourt combinations to deploy. She followed this up with 2.5 kills per set for Douglas County West this year on an impressive 0.266 clip.     Samuelson was already on the cusp of a rankings breakthrough before her sophomore campaign began. She logged a productive 15s season with Club Legacy and was a force in the attacking and blocking phases. Samuelson maintained this positive momentum by hitting nearly 0.300 in her second year with Omaha Concordia. Her ascent will likely continue.
