It's an important stretch for them beginning with club ball in January and running through the end of their sophomore seasons in November. There are a few kids here that did make noise as freshmen this fall. Friessen played a key role in helping Hinton reach the Class 2A state championship match, earning all-tournament honors for her effort. Austen solidified the opposite pin for Iowa City West in its return to the state tournament. Bryan was Dowling's starting libero as a freshman this year, when the Maroons reached the state tournament. Moore and Harlan enjoyed a memorable debuts as a six-rotation outsides, and Dolbeare was a presence in the middle.
